most grindcore songs.
songs from our lady peace's new album
The starting guitar to Jet's song (called something along the lines of 'be my girl) totally rips off the starting guitar to Iggy Pop's Lust For Life.

Creed-wise, the song you're looking for is called One Last Breath. I think Weathered and Bullets are a little more similar than OLB is to B.

O Yeah - End Of Fashion and Where Is My Mind - The Pixies (yeah I stole the idea of someone else but I agree).
Apple Tree - Wolfmother and Paranoid - Black Sabbath sound a bit the same as well.

Also, The Smiths song "Panic" sounds very similar to "Metal Guru" by T-Rex, a fact the group acknowledged.

Glad to to see you noticed that too, my girlfriend didn't...

I thought the riff to The Smiths song "What She Said" sounded like the riff to Blondie's "Call Me", but I've never come across anyone else who thought so.

Skinny Puppy - Dig It, Nine Inch Nails - Down In It. I think that one has been confirmed as intentional and that Trent admitted to partially ripping off Skinny Puppy.

Can't believe nobody beat me to it: Queen - Under Pressure, Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby. Obviously intentional, but Vanilla Ice denies it to this day.

Morbid Angel - Angel of Disease, Korn - Ball Tongue. Probably unintentional, maybe Korn were subconsciously influenced by Morbid Angel's riff.

Nine Inch Nails - Closer, Haujobb - some song I can't remember the name of. There's no freakin' way that wasn't intentional.

Nine Inch Nails - Last, Godsmack - Time Bomb. Jesus Christ Godsmack, it's not that hard to write a nu metal song.

[edit]: I just remembered another one.
Slipknot - Slipknot, Slipknot - (sic). Yes, you heard me. Slipknot ripped off their own song. Do they think nobody remembers Mate Feed Kill Repeat? Apparently not, because their latest (fourth) album is called "Vol. 3" or some such. Methinks they pulled a Pantera on us.

You might as well say that Vermillion - Slipknot and Vermillion Pt. 2 - Slipknot sound the same then  :P

When I began to try try and write songs (mostly on keyboard) they were just essientially parodys of Cure songs- like one song I accidently plagarised the keyboard melody from 'Charlotte Sometimes' unintentionally.
Has this happened, or anything similar happened to anyone else on here?

That's a false analogy. Vermillion and Vermillion Pt. 2 were written to complement eachother. (Sic) was basically Slipknot 2.0's idea of being edgy and hardcore and in your face without putting too much creative effort forth.

If you listened to Genesis' "Trick Of The Tail", Styx's "Madamoiselle", and Puffy AmiYumi's "December" all back-to-back, you'll be surprised to hear how similar the musical arrangements all sound...

For awhile I was wondering why Kid Rock's "American Bad*ss" was the same song as Metallica's "Sad But True" but with different words until someone I know who actually owns the Kid Rock album told me the liner states he got permission to use it. I should have known that was the only logical explanation but for awhile I was just like "man, what the hell?"

Sometimes I make odd links in my mind to songs that really don't sound a great deal alike.
For instance in 'Metal Mickey' by Suede there is a bar where a D sus changes to a Cmaj 7 and that bit really reminded me of Blur's 'She's So High'.
Anyway I managed to work out the intro to 'She's So High' because of it.

"What She Said"

I personally thought this had a similar feel to a Beatles' song... Which coincedently really doesn't sound like it at all.

"Hello I Love You" by The Doors sounds very simular to "All Day And All of the Night" by The Kinks.

"My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison has the same feel as "He's So Fine".

"Black Hole Sun" sounds like "In My Life" by The Beatles, but with an Electric Guitar.

If you listen to an album by the Lighthouse Family it sounds like one long song, that how similar their songs sound.

And here is the actual song: http://homepage.mac.com/jharrell/nickelback.mp3

The Cure and New Order have some kind of penchant (or ongoing in-joke, or something) for ripping off each other's songs. In addition to the aforementioned The Walk/Blue Monday similarity, there's also:
Inbetween Days - Dreams Never End
A Forest - Sunrise
and Just Like Heaven - All the Way
