That game is the only reason I will always have "19, 65, 9, 17" floating around in my head.

What do those numbers mean?

Sonic 2 definitely had the best music overall. I made my list to try and cover all the Genesis games though, since they all had their good tracks.

On a side note, I loved how Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles started using remixes of the zone tracks in the second acts. The remixes weren't just simple remixes either like the same track with an extra drum beat, often the track was fairly different yet retained the feel of the first act's track. For example:

I loved all the music from the early Sonic games. Especially the music to the final boss levels in Sonic 1, 2 and 3. Just very dramatic. Also the happy happy ending music to Sonic 2 with the black and white images of Tails and the animals.

And of course "Sonic Boom" from Sonic CD!

I have the Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 soundtracks on my computer. Jun Senoue's a pretty amazing composer for rock.

Not putting down the classics, they're also pretty good. Just haven't heard them in so long so I can't make a proper list of the top 10 songs...

Can I just vote for all of Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles? They were supposed to be one game at one point and that's why putting the two together gives you a full experience.

had to put those last two in even though there basicly just instramental verson of the games main song sense they really brought you feeling epic and able to take down the final boss.

I'm never good at picking favorites especially narrowing it down to a personal top 10 best because they change all the time.

Neither am I, and the list is going to change as the list of Sonic games increases, but I'm not letting that stop me from trying to make one!
