Despite being from my home town, I'd never heard of these guys before today.
They impress the hell out of me.
I find the discogs entry a bit confusing as they list "Mid Youth Crisis" as a renamed "One Inch Punch", yet proceed to list a compilation album with both names.

I can't fault any track of the linked album.

Here is One Inch Punch for comparison.
The vocalist sounds different to me..

Last up for tonight, a more traditional punk outfit... Another Melbourne offering.

Good morning WP,
Let's start with some crossover that slots into my thrash-puppy spectrum.
Well shock me! They're from Melbourne.

Deez nuts.

My last offering for tonight is another band from... you guessed it... Melbourne.
The Plovers (Although what a Melburnian calls a plover is in fact a lapwing)

Melbourne has to be the centre of the thrash-puppy universe.
This band I stumbled across today are going to end up with MANY entries in my high rotation playlist. Quirky as hell and I can't find a box they don't tick.
Please join me in falling for this band.
Cable ties.

I'm going to jump in the TARDIS for this offering.
Back to the dim, dark 80s for some bands that barely qualify for inclusion.
First up.
The Olympic Sideburns.

Grrr... It takes so long for the "Topic review" to parse out the embedding and links.
I have to wait for the keyboard to start working.

While I'm back in the dark ages, some historical Melbourne punk.
(Yes...there were several Vicious Circle bands...this was ours)

Good morning WP,
Let's stick with the antiquities for a bit.

Here's some early Perth punk. The Quick and the Dead

These guys are awesome...and guess where they're from.
Yep... Melbourne.
In fact the railway carriage on one album cover is the Hitachi series before mine.
(We bought an old one and plopped it next to the house. It was cheaper than extending and now contains 3 guest bedrooms, the laundry, the sewing room, the library and has a balcony off the far end. I built a covered deck between the house and the carriage to emulate a station.)

Without further ado... 28 days
