Agree: 2,4,5,6,9,12,13,16,19,20,22,23,26,33,35,39,41,43,45,46: 1 point
Disagree: 1,8,10,11,15,17,24,25,27,28,29,31,32,34,36,38,40,44,47,50: 1 point
Score: 40
undiagnosed, but this explains volumes.
has been 36 before
Have some very unaspie traits - but on the whole this is hole that best fits my irregular polygon peg.

Thing about retaking the test is that I do not have to spend any time thinking about slightly/definitely as it makes no difference on the score
a better test would, in my opinion factor in exactly how much (not) I enjoy social situations. and all the questions.
it is the "slightly" areas that I can go back and forth on.

So this thread is actually how I found this forum... It was suggested to me by several individuals that I might have Asperger's, so I went to the internetz for more information. I discovered that many of the qualities were similar to myself so I took the initial determinant test and then later also took the test about empathy.

Autism Spectrum Quotient A score of 37

Empathy Quotient A score of 22

I have to admit, I was very shocked by my scores in empathy, I've always thought I was a really empathetic individual who cared deeply for the concerns of others...but apparently my ineptitude shines beyond my intentions. Hell being paved with them and all.

I got 43, I could of guessed some proper NT answers but I had to be honest with myself.

I scored 39, and I googled some stuff about Aspergers and have reached the conclusion I believe I may have it.

They call me socially awkward in school, say I ruin jokes, I take things too literal, have a fascination with alphabetizing things and I looked at the characteristics...Can anyone help me figure this out? (Besides a doctor? My parents will think im crazy and this will have shown itself at a younger age)

I scored 36. A lot better than my previous score of 41.

I don't think the test is very accurate though.

This is a main symptom of Aspergers, and it gets the same ammount of points as

Some of the 'questions' should get more points than others.

I was wondering if any adults who scores 32+ on the ASQ (Autism spectrum quotient) would like to take part in a psychology study. It consists of 2 questionnaires.

Message me if you're interested

Thanks!

Here I am with imposter syndrome because my AQ score was only a 32, but then I'm getting pumped up when I realize, when compared to all the posters in this thread, I have by far the lowest EQ score: 7 !

And that was my second time. The first time, which was just before the second time, came out as 4 ! I thought, gee, better take this again, and very slowly and meticuoulsy. And I got the 7.

NT sister got a 4 on the AQ; her NT husband got a 15.
She scored 65 on the EQ.

For me, the questions are almost impossible to answer accurately because for most of the questions my only honest answer would have to be "it depends," and that's not an option. It looks like going for "agree strongly" or "agree slightly" would give it a degree of nuance, but the calculation at the end gives the same score for strongly as it does slightly, which further undermined my trust in the design. Why did they pretend to want to know information that they intend to ignore?

So to do the test at all properly I had to note down which side of accurate each answer erred on, and to fix it so that I erred on one side as many times as I erred on the other side. In that way I tried to get the errors to cancel each other out, otherwise I could have got any score I liked without actually lying. The final result was almost exactly halfway between the diagnostic threshold and the maximum possible score. I can't remember what the actual score was as a number.

I still can't understand how anybody can simply answer the questions without feeling that it isn't working. Maybe I just overthink things, but I can't make myself less thoughtful than I am by nature. If I answer questions, I want to give them due consideration and to answer them accurately. Show me a question on that test and I'll very likely show you why the answer in my case isn't simple.

I've never tried to do the Empathy Quotient, as I'm against the use of the term. It has more than one definition and I don't think it's helpful to conflate it with either compassion or "mind-reading" skills.
