Stars Hedy Lamarr, as an ultra-attractive half-caste Vietnamese woman, who is courted by several men, and who eventually marries Robert Taylor's character--an American drifter/playboy.

One thing that is interesting--it was filmed in 1939, and set in Saigon (actually filmed in Cambodia), when the French Empire was at its greatest--just before France fell to the Nazis, and Indochina fell to the Japanese.

A lot of stereotypes presented, which were probably largely true. The French apparently fathered a lot of children in their colonies, but didn't much care for them.

This would make for an interesting post-Hayes-code remake, with actual Asian and half-Asian actors playing the Vietnamese roles, and some actual T&A instead of merely implied coitus.

Interesting Thai movie about a young man who falls in love with his young stepmother.

Encouraged by ASPartOfMe's assessment, last night we watched Please Stand By [2017].

We both enjoyed the movie.

And I wonder how she would've done if she hadn't been put in a group home.
Or how I would've done if I had been stuck in a group home.

"Leave the World Behind"...doomsday flick revolving around a supposed cyberattack. It was decent, maybe a little too long.
