So I got another text from the doctor saying I should make an appointment as soon as possible. I rang the clinic and the 26th March is as soon as I could get in.

I had the glucose tolerance test - it required me to sit for two hours after I had a very sweet glucose drink. Plus they drew my blood three times. I hope I don't have to go through that again.

The doctor saying they wanted to see me ASAP, pretty much tells me I have diabetes. I don't have any symptoms of it, but it's said that a lot of people have it without knowing.

Well fingers crossed it's nothing too urgent that needs to be looked at sooner

Grrr...Hospital wants to schedule an op on my other leg in a month or two.
The timing sucks.
I don't want to defer my jury duty again, and it means my partner won't be taking her demented mother back home for six months.
I was so looking forward to some batchelor time.

Tomorrow I'll have first two of my four wisdom teeth removed, with inhalation sedation for the first time. I'm feared a bit, but it has to be done, I have my jaw to be corrected and these eights started to degrade (with all other teeth otherwise healthy).
Hopefully it's just me and my anxiety towards medical procedures in overall. It's said this sedation works ("said", well, it's use dates back to 19th century!), and I already had oral sedation twice that worked flawlessly on me. And removal will be done by a professional with three-decade experience, not by a rando with qualification certificates bought on a bazaar.

Yeah it's best to get it out of the way

I've heard that wisdom teeth can have all manner of negative impact on the gums and mouth

Fingers crossed for you

All four of mine came in fine.

Apparently I have a big mouth.

Since I was born without wisdom teeth I can never really aspire to sagacity.

I'd be more worried if you were born with them.

Mine all erupted incorrectly, with one stuck under gum (and it's one of two teeth that's to be removed tomorrow as we decided to start with the "harder" ones)

So today two went off, two to go. Sedation worked out, funny and weird feeling - like I was fully aware of what was happening, but at the same time I couldn't care less, even when sounds were like somebody was demolishing a wall. Local anesthesia was kinda weak however and I had to get four-five shots before it started to work

I just returned to functional state, painkiller I was prescribed is really slow (started working after ~4 hours, vs. usual 10-20 minutes with aspirin / ibuprofen), but at least I barely feel the pain now.

I only had the two upper wisdom teeth and they were taken out when I had jaw surgery. Minimal pain.

You made me laugh with your wall demolition description.
