Yep, it's my go-to "excitement stim". I also sometimes use it when I'm nervous, but if I'm sitting down I prefer rocking for that. My mother says the way in which I do it makes me look like I have Parkinson's disease. Not really sure how to respond to that.

My dad does this. He's usually very calm and level-headed but when he gets excited about something he'll chatter all excitedly, giggle, bounce about in his chair and flap his hands! I find it so sweet and charming that he has that childlike level of excitement over something that has caught his interest.

I do all of those when I get excited but flap. I also do this thing where I jump up and down while going in circles. :D

Most of the time when I flap my hands Its kinda like Im waving them really fast in a right and left motion as opposed to up and down. I sometimes flap up and down though. I also kinda make a high pitched humming sound.

I feel like this whenever Im hand flapping or doing other stimming at times! Also I have a feeling Miku is an aspie hehe the song is about her falling asleep at the computer waking up realising she gets so obsessed that she has no life and no time to do normal things like laughing crying or being angry. The rest of the song explains how her life sucks and calls herself stupid!

For the first time recently, I realised I hand-flapped during a moment of anxiety overload. It made me wonder how many times I've done it in the past and not noticed. Similarly, I rock when I'm very distressed. Being the generally passive sub-type, not only do I probably do those things less than other subtypes but have also paid less attention to realising that I do them.

Yes, I do it a lot, as well as running from one side of the room to the other.

My son does it when he gets excited too. I think it's cute!

The neurologist explained that hand flapping is something to worry about only when the child does it all the time, not only when he gets excited/happy/anxious

I’m not a fan of hand flapping. I tried it and it hurt my wrist. I don’t mind if anyone else likes it, but it doesn’t feel comfortable to me.

I hand flap when I'm watching TV and my hands are restless because I'm not working on my hobbies.

No. :? The closet I think I get to it is flapping just my fingers when waving hello or goodbye.

Or after when Bart showed Lisa on the Simpsons that there really is an answer to the age-old question "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" :)
