music genres i like are Soundtracks (not the vocals [except for Disney music], but the original score), Broadway Musicals, Contemporary Country, Adult Contemporary, Oldies (50s-70s), Instrumental (solo, especially Piano), and Contemporary Christian.

Some of the genres that I will listen to in a while are Pop, 80s and 90s music, World, and Jazz.

Movie soundtracks (especially Danny Elfman's better ones), Industrial, some metal (but not most Death Metal because of the singing style), some alternative rock (but none that's "happy" sounding), and some indie. (Though I haven't quite figured out what "indie" is supposed to mean....)

I go for Classic Reggae, and Classic Punk and some Classic Country. Upbeat tunes that have lots of lyrics that deal with themes of alienation and rejection by society. I could never get into the effeminate suburban gothic s**t at all even though there are some fine goth chicks out there. I love early Black Sabbath, and I even like the Mexican Narcocorridas because there is something fundamentally sick and twisted about Gangster Polka that I just love. Hip-Hop, well KRS-One, Eminem, Sir-Mix-A-Lot, Tupac, its the music of my generation. But Old School Rap was so far behind Dancehall Reggae as far as its speed of delivery that I was the only kid at my hick high school who listened to dancehall. Damn that Vanilla Ice, I gave up performing "Dancehall Stylee" after that guy, I could have been another Garnett Silk. Yeah Garnett Silk his music is the music that marked "the good old days", at least Lady Saw is alive and kicking!

I thought 70s/80s Prog-rock (e.g. Jethro Tull, Genesis, Yes, Styx, Moody Blues) is probably an Aspie-friendly genre; I tend to listen to quite a bit of prog myself...
Also some of the more quirky and underrated modern pop-rock (such as B*Witched and Andrew W.K....)

Mostly, I listen to metal, industrial, hardcore and punk. I also listen to ambient and experimental. I basically listen to anything that is not in the mainstream. If it were for mainstream music, I'd say I like Korn and System of a Down, but I tend to despise the commercial nature of mainstream music.

What have I been listening to lately? Nevermore, Flotsam and Jetsam, All That Remains, Corrosion of Conformity, Snog, Gary Numan, Clan of Xymox, Small Cruel Party, Throbbing Gristle, Death In June, Missing Foundation, Assuck, Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Nixon's Head, Ornamental Wigwam, Borbetomagus, etc ...

Hip-Hop
Hate Music (which, come to think of it, includes a lot of rap and pretty much all Death Metal that I've ever heard)

I think that's about it. Just about anything else is cool, depending on my mood.

the thing in which you were talking about rap would indicate that you were talking about country lol

I'm mainly into progressive rock, particularly Yes and Rick Wakeman. I think there's just something about that music that really suits me, and songs like Close To The Edge seem to fit my usual frame of mind pretty well (ie. almost completely chaotic and incomprehensible). :P

Other than that, I also tend to like J-pop and anime music, and soundtracks in general, especially the Starlight Express soundtrack. :)
