I liked the arcade version of Cruis'n World. In the Germany course, if you ran over the cows, their guts would be flying across the screen.
I also liked the Mario games, the Zelda games, the first 3 Castlevania games (though the "good" ending in Simon's Quest scared me--the one where Drac's hand comes up from the ground), the NES Mega Man series, the first 2 Ninja Gaiden games (I never played the third one), Dragon Warrior, Bad Dudes and Rygar.
