Even when I was a small child I never understood the appeal in marriage

And I understand it even less as I get older

On a different note, I was just thinking that I’m grateful for some of the awkward things I experienced around dating when I was young. While they were embarrassing at the time, some of it is entertaining to look back on.

In my church, young people would have “get togethers.” The point of them was not just to hang out but to find someone to court/date - a potential “marriage mate.” Anyway, I ended up being the only woman at one of them. It was so incredibly awkward, but that’s where I met my first BF.

There isn’t somebody out there for everybody. Not everybody gets to be in a relationship and some of us are meant to be single forever. You can self improve yourself and still can easily end up being forever single. Most simple platitudes sayings are useless and it would be better off saying nothing.

Unrequited love sucks

Not much to tell on that front. Early days. Still, I hope something comes of it. I haven't been on a date in ages.
