I read through the thread because I did not want to duplicate any answers.
I would have liked to have said Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, but the autistic spectrum never pops up. Although when referred to as a psychopath his response was "I'm not a psychopath, I'm a high-functioning sociopath. Do your research."
Although I found this article that says psychopaths are divided into two groups, primary and secondary. Secondary is a "fancy way of saying sociopath."
This neuroscientist lets us know if Sherlock is actually a sociopath
But is he on the autistic spectrum? Maybe? I use to wonder. There seems to be some overlap of symptoms, but just because I am on the spectrum, that does not mean I'm an expert, and it doesn't mean script writers are experts. They can be loose and slippery when it comes to articulating a diagnosed condition. This part belongs under another thread, but I do have a crush on Molly Hooper, and to bleed a bit into another thread, I never considered dating a fictional crush. The talk about Sherlock has prodded me to watch it again, from the beginning. :)

I feel comfortable with the following -
Sam from Atypical
Abed Nadir from Community
Max Braverman from Parenthood
Tina Beltcher from Bob's Burger
Woo Young-woo from Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Kim Jeong-hun from episode 3 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo - I had to look this character up. He was autistic and accused of killing his brother.
Forrest Gump from Forest Gump
Amelie Poulain from Amelie
Oskar Schell from Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Maurice Moss from The IT Crowd
Raymond Babbitt from Rain Man
Abby Sciuto from NCIS - maybe? I often think so
Adam Raki from Adam
Jerry Espenson from Boston Legal
Sonya Cross from The Bridge - How would Alex feel if I over looked this one?

and others have said -
Temperance Brennan from Bones
Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory
Amy Farrah-Fowler from The Big Bang Theory
Boo Radley from To Kill a Mockingbird

I do think the Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock as misdiagnosed himself. I think both he and Mincroft
Now I'm researching... Don't follow the link if you enjoy exploring your own "memory palace." My "memory palace" has termites. :hmph:
List of Autistic Fictional Characters

This is too long, isn't it?

Dwight from the Office.
Captain Holt and Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99
Norman Binns on Only When I Laugh. (Note: I think he's supposed to be a child/teenager, but he's played by a grown man)
Bea, Joey and Margot Daly from Dream Corp LLC but near everybody seems neurodivergent or literally insane.
Bernie (Weirdo) from It's a Wonderful Knife.
Dave from Dave Made a Maze, although he seems more ADHD.
Andy from Alien: Romulus
Herbert West from Re-Animator
The titular Bubble Boy and Donnie Darko (interestingly, played by the same actor)
The Cable Guy has totally got a special interest in TV.

Regarding Sherlock in Sherlock...

Can we assume that instance of Sherlock Holmes is approximately the same age as Benedict Cumberbatch who plays him?

If so, that Sherlock Holmes would've been born around 1976. And Asperger's Syndrome wasn't added to the DSM until 1994 when Sherlock would've been about age 18. So, Sherlock may've tried analyzing his personal psychology before Asperger's Syndrome was in the DSM. Since he wasn't Kanner Autistic he would necessarily looked elsewhere in the DSM to find personal understanding because (before 1994) he clearly was not Autistic.
