Sad to say, the one marked season 3 episode 3 doesn't seem to be the one you mentioned, though both Wikipedia and IMDB both say that's the one. Must be DailyMotion that's labelled it wrong. Though strangely I found another source that gave me the very same wrong episode. So I'm out of ideas as to how to find it. :-(

Well, I guess you'd have to somehow get ahold of the entire season 3; I just checked YouTube and it's nowhere. Anyways, very relatable episode to those who like their routine and sameness. But the guest character who has a crush on Linda -- ASD in true form, complete with stimming in the background while the foreground scene focuses on Becker.

I can't believe what I just watched on TV: An episode of "Becker" where Linda is poking fun at the name Asperger's!

Linda is the show's dimwit. She works at Dr. Becker's office and is reading a patient file, saying that a word is "AsBURGER's."

The smart employee, Margaret, corrects this and says it's "Asperger's."

Linda keeps laughing about it. Margaret says, word for word, "Asperger's is a serious behavior disorder. Dr. Becker is sending that man to a specialist downtown."

Linda giggles again. Margaret says, "Do you realize how many people have Asperger's?"

Linda says, "Yeah, over 50 billion served!"

I was hoping they'd show the patient, but then it cut to a new scene. EDIT: I saw the rest of the show, and Linda changes a password to "Asperger's." Margaret laughs. Dr. Becker overhears and says, "Asperger's is a very serious illness."

WHO WROTE THIS EPISODE? By definition, Asperger's is a MILD form of autism, and...autism is NOT an illness.

The episode is called "Crosstalk."

Great news!! !! !!

That Becker episode, "The Wong Move," is airing again this Tuesday, 10:30 Mountain Time. I think the cable network is Antenna TV.

This is the episode where the main storyline is Becker's resistance to a change in routine, and how he gets talked into changing it, and this creates a ripple effect of mishaps for everyone. BUT, there's also a guest character who's SO coded for autism -- this is very obvious when he comes into Becker's waiting room.

I really hope people here watch this episode. I think it was written with autism (the then-Asperger's) in mind.

I'd love to, but I haven't got live television and I still can't find that particular episode online.

Felix Unger, The Odd Couple

Frank Burns, MASH

Georgette Baxter, Mary Tyler Moore

And a case could be made for all four main characters on Seinfeld.

I thought she was in the 90's movies with Christina Ricci. Possibly in some of the comics too.

Amy Farrah Fowler - The Big Bang Theory
Fans Think Sheldon Cooper Is Autistic — Truth About 'The Big Bang Theory' Character

Quote:
Neuroscientist and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ actor Mayim Bialik gave her own opinion.
Mayim has a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA, but she also played Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon’s girlfriend, on the show.

Mayim has also addressed the idea that her own character could potentially be autistic. “Amy is socially awkward, a bit sexually repressed, and anxious. I think she would fall on the autistic spectrum,” she wrote for her own publication, GrokNation.

Sheldon in "Young Sheldon" is clearly autistic. It's so obvious that the writers are sending this message. In last week's episode, Sheldon talks about how the background music in a soap opera (that he watched for his sister who was grounded), helps him with "social cues." This was after he pointed out he doesn't get social cues. Then there was a scene where he was telling Missy what the characters were feeling based on the music he heard. It was obvious the script writers were thinking "AUTISM!" In that same episode Sheldon mentioned something about a subtext while he was in conversation.

The only autistic trait Young Sheldon doesn't show is stimming. Interestingly, Dr. Shaun Murphy ("The Good Doctor"), whose character IS a diagnosed autistic, never stims, though he has odd mannerisms with his hands and arms (but mannerisms aren't the same as stimming). He also doesn't seem to have any special interests (he's no more "obsessed" with medicine than any of his colleagues). However, I haven't seen all of 2018's episodes, have not seen 2019-2021, but have seen all of 2022 and so far 2023.

There's a headcanon that Goku from Dragon Ball has a developmental disability similar to autism due to TBI (traumatic brain injury) as a baby

I think most of the traits are explained by his alien heritage, but the social issues and naivety are most definitely not

Maud Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is obviously autistic. She speaks in a monotone voice, interprets things literally, is quite blunt, and has a special interest in rocks. Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie from the same show also show many autistic traits, but not as extreme as Maud.
