Barefoot shoes help people run faster supposedly.

That is why I bought them in the first place. :) If you run in these, it is far easier to achieve a good (and fast) forefoot strike. Actually, going heel first is impossible, because it would hurt too much.

Barefoot at home. In school, very tight sneakers and Adidas socks--very thin ones that make me feel almost like I'm barefoot. Occasionally, I'll wear socks at home, but that's just when I want to be able to toewalk without my parents complaining.

For anyone who far prefers barefoot to socks but needs them, I highly recommend the thin Adidas socks. Kohls has them in the USA, and I bet sports stores carry them, too.

Socks, because my feet get cold easily during the wintertime. I seem to have made a habit out of wearing socks, because I sometimes wear them during the summer, too.

I'm frequently bare foot at home. But I find I like wearing different types of shoes and the different sensations from quite quite enjoyable.

For the most part, barefoot at home.

I like to have bare feet.

Sometimes I like one sock on and one sock off because I like the sensation of one foot warm and one foot cold. :D

I could never sleep in socks, that's just horrendous.

Don't know what this poll is referring to. Around the house? In public?

I tend to wear just socks around the house.
I am tender-footed so I cannot walk outside without shoes on.

most of the time at home, i'm socks only. late at night when i'm wrapped in blankets or when it gets too hot i am barefoot.
at school i like to take off my shoes (just my shoes!) in class...people have gotten used to it. it's one of the main things i'm known for.

I'm stuck between choosing "Just socks on their own" & "Barefeet."

Shoes+socks every time possible. At home I use slippers+socks (2 pair of socks and no shoes when I am a quest in someone home and I don't have slippers, 2nd pair of socks always fits in my bag). In garden or when I am on vacation (seaside) - flip flops/sandals... and socks. I only wear shoes without socks when I have to go out in the sandals to the city (sandals with socks are socially unacceptable for some reason) or I am at swimming pool where putting sock on and off would be unpractical.

I occasionally try to go out barefoot to the garden for textile input (grass, snow, floor hot from sun) but I can stand only a moment like this. Same with being barefoot at home (when I wake up at night and can't use slippers for some reason). The textile sensation is very distracting, everything sticks to my foot and I am afraid I will get a piece of a glass(kitchen) or cat litter(bathroom) or something bite me(garden). The only place I go barefoot is the beach. I can't stand sand in my shoes or socks.

Sock are my favorite part of clothing. I have quite a lot of them, I keep buying new ones. They used to feel uncomfortable (the elastic around ankle!) but the problem is gone since I found a way. I just cut the elastic part off. The sock rolls up a little but it doesn't fall. It feels almost like the sock is not there. Except it still guards my sensitive foot from dirt, textiles and cold.
