You would have to know the mind of God, anyhow, to have any hopes of changing it...
And since God is supposed to be perfect, why and how could he change, or want to change his mind?

I think it would be kind of hard to know God's mind, considering the only accounts we have of his beliefs/words/instructions are from various opposing points of views (different religions I am talking about here, not inter faith contradictions).

Remember, we are not talking about changing the mind of another human being. Only God knows the mind of God. For a puny human mind to even approach the mind of God means madness. Could a ladybug approach the human level of consciousness?

Certainly not!

Change God's mind? God isn't a flesh-and-blood person who can be intimidated, you know. I sense you ain't kidding about this. Don't know what to tell you. Other than it's utter futlility. Might as well try and convince the rain to quit being so damned wet.

Then why burn down a church?

Why indeed?

You can do it for the criminal record, I guess.

Or the social stigma.

But please don't do to get back at God!

Write about how you feel. Write more. Writing is a productuve means by which you can express your feelings. And I recommend you talk about this to others as well. You can certainly channel negative emotions into creative, constructive activities. And I'm serious when I say this.

Isn't it beautiful? I call it a self-annihilating poem. It desires that the very subject of its art disappear along with it.

I dunno. I still don't see how it's a Gospel poem. There's nothing about Jesus, his life, or his ministry in it.

The meter is clever but sloppy in places. Needs work.

I told you, there are references at the bottom!

And I'd love to know where the meter gets sloppy.

The Gospel references eluded me. I think they were too oblique, to tell you the truth. I missed them.

The middle paragraphs, I think, strained to maintain meter and rhyme-scheme.

I'm critiquing the poem, not you personally.

Try not to make it a personal thing. Maybe it's time for me to stop talking about this and leave it alone.

I'm still changing lines to make it sound better.
