I really need to get new ones, both reading and driving. I need them to see tv too, but I rarely wear them. The reading ones are ones I got at the drug store. I should get regular prescription ones.

I started to wear glasses since 7th grade, because I couldn't see the chalkboard from the back of the classroom.

My eyesight was exceedingly good until I was about 40; had to get glasses around 50, and my dad is right: glasses just bring your eyesight to a 'good enough' level, not back to what it was.

I'm very slightly short-sighted in one eye, and very slightly long-sighted in the other, but apart from that I have good eyesight, and I don't need glasses.

I like trying my friends' on, though! I think glasses are cool! :)

Yes, and I don't plan on getting contacts anytime soon.

Interesting, that there is such a high percentage of people who got glasses before age 13. Wondering if eye sight issues and autism are correlated. I got glasses at age 8.

Me neither, the thought of putting something in my eyes freaks me out.

Unfortunately yes and I feel I was duped into getting them. Glasses to me are nothing but a scam. I'm almost blind without them now and there's no way my eyesight was that bad when I was a child. I started wearing them indoors when I was in the 4th grade and by the time I reached the 6th grade, I ended up wearing them all the time. My eyesight over the years keep getting worse and worse and it just angers me so much. Maybe someday I'll have the courage to get Lasik but the thought of having to be awake for the surgery scares the crap out of me.

Yes, but I only really need them for driving and reading overhead projections at lectures. Actually , on familiar roads i drive just as good without, but the second i need to read road signs i need them.

Yeah. Used to wear contacts when I first got glasses for a year or so but now I wouldn't trade my glasses for anything. :)

Yes, but I checked "Sometimes" cuz I only wear them to drive, and sometimes to see something on T.V.-----but, my T.V. is less than 10 feet away, so.... When I first got them, I forgot to wear them to work a couple of times because I wear them so infrequently at home and I would have to make a conscious effort to take them with me. I didn't get them until I was in my forties, and noticed that street signs were not as clear as they once were.
