I like some history. I like learning about ancient civilizations and medieval times. But in school they only teach the boring history, and not the fun history.

I guess you could say I have a thing for the Third Reich. Just a little thing.. not something I've invested hundreds of hours into or anything like that  (except I have)

I've never clicked with science and advanced math is quite difficult for me. Give me some history, though, and I'll be in a coma from happiness.

i get it. for me, in math class, time enters a no passing zone. i was looking forward for history class entering junior year and i was flat out disappointed in what was taught. they just skimmed over everything.

i was real into the 3rd reich too. have you read mein kampf?

I absolutely LOVE history!! ! :D Sadly I have some theories on History that would be at best considered questionable so I won't mention them. But my favorite subject is Europe from 1600-now such an awesome time. My favorite era would be the victorian period simply because everyone had an awesome manner of clothing, except ladies, sorry ladies nothing against ya but having a high likeliness of being set on fire by accident is NOT awesome not matter who you are.

From the ages of 12 to 15 I read about anything World War II related obsessively, in particular the German side of the war and the rise of the Nazis! Currently not as obsessed, but the interest still remains.

As a toddler and until I was about 12, I was obsessed with the Romanovs and Russia. I also had a fascination with World War 2, which is common as chips, and I loved Irish history. I liked the Vikings, as well, and a few other topics.

I really can't wait to read Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto, but I can't get either of them where I live. I might be able to get them from my Aspie uncle who is history obsessed. Has anyone here read them?

I have a huge shelf of my history books xD

On the topic of other aspie interests, I liked/like math, especially accounting, but I dislike Science. I actually didn't like middle ages history in school, nor the early days other than maybe the Greeks and Romans. I also have little interest in American history. I don't really understand why, but it just didn't click with me. I just don't find it as interesting as Russian history. I also adore Jewish history.

I wouldn't really call myself an obsessive history fan, though. I like history in moderation. :)

I have been obsessed with history since I could read, I think.
I especially like the Antiquity and Victorian eras, but I abhor the medieval period.

medieval period...not to my taste either. not the european medieval anyway, it is a huge source of fuel for movies and childrens shows that aren't and weren't to my liking.

I love history and politics. Definitely my greatest interest. My favourite topics include Communism/Socialism/Marxism, Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union, Germany post WWI - to the fall of the Berlin wall, the Soviet block in the 50s and 60s (Prague spring especially), Arab-Israeli conflict British mandate-today, the Vietnam war and Cambodian genocide as well as some ancient history (Greeks, Romans, Persians etc.). My only problem with it is that no matter how much I read/research will never get to learn all there is to know.

History is awesome! It's like an extra layer of order to the world around me, knowing how and why things are the way they are. Plus, it's incredibly important now.

I studied both modern and ancient, and love studying the history of wherever I go. At the moment, I’m staying on the Cornish Coast which has a history of mining. There are old mines and steam engine housing here dotted all over the landscape. I’m staying in an 1850s Miners cottage, one of the rare few remaining and am reading the book on its history. The Battle of Britain was fought over Surrey where I live and I’m constantly learning new surprising historical facts about the area. I’ve extensively photographed museums and historical landmarks when I travel, from Vienna to Rome. I find the past fascinating. I’m currently working on creating a 1940s WWII era layout with vintage cars, trains, buildings, and a RAF base with spitfires & various military vehicles from the era. It’s a very fun challenge!

Jesus, this is an old post.

I absolutely adore history. I try my best to gather as much pre-renaissance world history as I can so I can the big picture of world economies and politics during any broad point of time. The rise, the fall, and the prosperous. No better treat than piecing it all together.
