I hate the smell of mint when I'm not the one using it. It's makes me nauseous. Like I can stand toothpaste when I'm brushing my teeth, but not when someone else is

Sometimes the smell of greasy foods makes me sick. But not always. There's no pattern to when it happens.

I always like the taste of those foods though.

The feeling of the bed mattress or blankets touching my bare feet. That's why I wear socks to bed every night, even in the summer.

Felt-type blankets that have hard little pills on them that rub on your skin.

PJs or nightgowns, because of the way they twist around my body at night and it's like sleeping in a straitjacket.

Silk or satin clothes or bed sheets.

Practically anything knitted and bulky.

The dry, puckery feeling in my mouth after eating certain fruits or drinking certain beverages because of tannins. Do other people actually like it??

Ketchup put on anything cheese or made with cheese.

Any combination of fish, seafood, and tomatoes.

The smell of fish and seafood. And the taste. As someone living in Atlantic Canada, this has been a real struggle.

Also I prefer warm or room-temp foods to cold food, except maybe in the summer. I like ice cream in the summer but when it gets cooler I just don't feel like eating it.

This is weirdly relatable.

I don't think this particular sensory issue is odd (noise), but my reactions to it and some of my other triggers probably are.

it seems like when there's a lot of noise in a room for an extended period of time I often start to get a bunch of involuntary tics before I become emotionally overwhelmed, which is probably odd. My tolerance seems to get a lot lower when I'm already tired which might be normal, but when I drink coffee or an energy drink and then go into a room with a lot of noise I'm even more likely to have an episode (tics/anxiety attack/meltdown/verbal shutdown) than I would be otherwise.

I also seem to become nauseous more easily when there's a lot of noise (almost like how I become nauseous when I'm eating a food with a weird texture except to a lesser extent), I don't know how weird that is.

I have a similar reaction to noise, and have to face it every week. There's a place I have to go every week, there's always lots of people and loud sounds. When I start to tic, go silent and stuff, it's always so embarrassing, because of how people look at me :(

Fortunately for me I don't notice other's perceptions easily especially when overstimulated, if i did it'd probably be a lot more of a hell to deal with

I don't like my back being touched. My skin crawls when someone touches my back.

There's a kind of fabric that they use on the booths in IHOP that if someone's brushing it, it makes my skin crawl. Always has.

Deodorant. I wear unscented because *any* scented deodorant makes me feel nauseous all day.

I find many normal food smells to be atrocious. In fact, of all of my sensory issues, my sensory issues related to food seem to be the worst by far. It's really bad.

If I'm sitting at a table with other people and one of them accidentally touches my foot/feet with theirs, I'm instantly furious.

  • Clothes... I hate shopping for clothes, because most make me feel like I want to peel my skin off. And it takes forever until I find something I am ok with. But I hate being naked as well...
  • Sounds... Especially bass-heavy music. Even if I can only "sense" it somehow. It makes my hearbeat change and causes anxiety-attacks. But also people laughing, shouting, ... especially at night when I want to sleep.
  • Blinking lights... Like christmas-lights. I HATE them. And my neighbors have them installed all year round. :(
  • Food textures... I am getting sick from honeydew melon or cantaloupe, papayas and fruit with similar texture. I can't stand tofu or similar foods due to the texture.
  • Hair... Head-hair mostly. Especially fallen out/cut off hair. I would go bald, if it wouldn't make my life even more complicated. No problem with fur, unless it is fallen out and on my face...
  • Shaking I can't controll... FE: If someone next to me is rocking, or luffing their foot or something like that, causing the seat to shake. It drives me mad and mostly makes me feel as if I need to pee.
  • Smells... Especially cigarette smoke, even worse, cold smoke on people... like strong smokers... I start feeling sooo sick quickly. But also strong perfumes, scented candles, ....
  • and many other that won't come to my mind right now...

A lot of pop music triggers misophonia for me.

Most of the time, when the sun hits my skin, my whole body starts to feel itchy. But I don’t sweat or anything like that; it’s just itching.

Do you know why?
