Left-handed people tend to be better adapted because they have to use right-handed stuff all the time. Even if there are left-handed products, not very many lefties use them. This world was made for right-handed people, a world where people discriminate against those who are different than they are. Approximately 10-15% of the population is left-handed, which is a heck of a higher percentage than those of us with AS. Since they are such a large minority, shouldn't we not discriminate against them as much?
I am shocked that you wood imply that it wood be ok to discriminate against a smaller minority, namiko...

In linguistics, the w sound in words like war, woot, and wascal is considered to be a semivowel. A semivowel is midway between being a consonant and true vowel. In the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), [w] is classified as voiced labial-velar approximant (approximant is a synonym for semivowel). The semivowel /w/ is very close to the vowel /u/ (the phoneme in the word boot). The y sound in words like yet is another semivowel (in IPA, /j/).
Actually, in Latin, the semivowels weren't originally written any differently from the vowels! Thus Julius Caesar's famous quote, "Veni, vidi, vici," could have just as well been written, "Ueni, uidi, uici." (Yes, it would have been pronounced, "Weni, weedy, wicky" in Caesar's time—before the semivowel /w/ became the fricative /v/.) The name Jesus in Latin would have been Iesus (Yaisoos).
Actually, there is a continuum (or spectrum, if you like ) between consonant and vowel. Consonants with strong contact between the tongue and other parts of the mouth, obstructing the air flow most, are most strongly consonants. (See Sonority hierarchy.)
Some consonants are capable of acting as the nucleus of a syllable instead of a vowel! In English these consonants are /r/, /l/, /m/, and /n/: color, table, mitten, forum.

I'm left handed but...
I cut with scissors using my right hand, because I don't like using left-handed scissors.
I kick with my right hand.
I use the mouse with my right hand,As well as almost any appliance found in the house, office, or anywhere.
I have a weak left eye (thank you strubismis) which effects my ability to bat in baseball, and to throw a ball with proper accuracy. Though the throwing isn't bad, the batting is more of a challenge. A weak left eye can make doing a lot of things left-handed difficult since I cannot see the left area around my hand well without a patch over the right eye. Then the left area is visible but blurry.
Writing is a right-handed motion and my left hand blocks what I am reading and somtimes smudges the print on paper and makes it sloppy. Only if I can write backwards and turn the paper around.
Maybe I can learn a semitic language which read from right to left. But people write in those languages with their right hand, so what's the fuss that I need to know?
I snap my fingers with my left hand so that is a well-deserved three left-handed
SNAP
SNAP
SNAP!! !!
Ciao!

I don't think I implied that we should discriminate against a smaller minority, but rather that no minorities (this minority being larger than a lot of them, consisting of about 13% of the total population) should be discriminated against.
Okay, duncvis, I accept your logic that "W" is a vowel in Welsh. I was also doing some research of my own and realized that "w" can be combined with another vowel usually "o" or "u" into a vowel cluster. Heh, in the word "vowel", the "W" functions both as a partial consnant and a vowel at the same time. Funny thing...
