Yes, it is. The gold ones are very attractive (same design), but you'd pay getting on for £2400 for one of those. The silver one cost me £34.

Have they tried to get you to buy more yet? That's what happened to me when I bought a free coin from the London mint.

No, but I know what you mean. Outfits like that advertise their stuff as 'teasers' to get you hooked, then try to sell you all sorts of overpriced rubbish. Another company to avoid is Harrington & Byrne. I'd recommend a firm called Atkinson's actually - a reputable no-nonsense company who don't do pressure selling.

I bought a packet of Fisherman's Friends for 79p from Home Bargains (excellent store, btw). I've definitely never had these before, so it must have been Victory-V that I was thinking of during the discussion about these matters from a few days ago. Home Bargains also do a blackcurrant flavour version (also 79p), so I bought a pack of these as well.

Let us know how you get on with them please

I'm interested in the alternative flavours

I will do, but I'm not opening them until after my evening meal in a few hours time (don't want to spoil my appetite).

Yeah because they keep your mouth minty for about an hour or something

They're strong enough to blow the wax out of your ears

Yes, I tried a couple of the regular ones on the tram a couple of hours ago. Very strong flavour, nice sensation, but they don't last long do they? From what I recall (admittedly from several decades ago), you can make a Victory-V last about 10-15 minutes.

Yeah a fisherman's friend just absorbs on your tongue more or less but you can give a victory v a good old suck

None of them have the same kick since they stopped putting chloroform in them.

Last thing I bought was some run-of-the-mill groceries. It usually is.
