This morning we watched Carl the Collector [2024– ], S1E1, "The Plushie Collection/The Bouncy Ball Collection"

That is, we watched the first episode of a new animated PBS children's show which IMDb describes as:

"An autistic collector raccoon goes on adventures with his friends."

An entertaining child's show. We enjoyed it; but I'm probably not going to watch it often. I'm about ten times the age of the target audience.

And they did not dwell on the character being Autistic. I don't know if this episode even mentions it. But I think the character was a plausibly presented Autistic child (except for that being-a-racoon thing).

I started a few collections myself, when I was young, so I empathized with the character. I just hope they don't have him starting two new collections in each weekly episode...that would be excessive, I think.

Dickens Of London (1976), saw episode 1 today.
It's on DailyMotion. I saw it 8 years ago, and also on TV the first time round, but can't remember it very well so I thought I'd take another look. It all started this time when I found out on the Web that Dickens had never met Edgar Allen Poe. I remembered an episode of D.O.L. in which they meet and Dickens ends up having horrible nightmares. Turns out they made it all up. But I was curious to see it again, and it doesn't cost anything to do that, so I made a start. It's not bad.

That's a lot of telly. 8O The only one I've seen is Matlock, but that impressed me.

Yep, that's the one I've been seeing. Main protagonist known for playing the villain in "Misery." Most of the lawyers are annoyingly up-market and corporate, but I guess if they looked like hippies it wouldn't be very authentic.
