I play classical guitar, but I'm learning some non-classical songs, such as Bliss by Muse. I play it simply because I enjoy it.

Guitar - electric and flamenco.
I play electric guitar in a Banghra/Hindi songs band. We haven't gigged for a while, did a few shows at the start of the year. Not the most technically impressive but *very* entertaining live.

I've also been playing flamenco guitar for 4 years now. Occasionally I play in a Spanish cafe and I have my first real solo show - albeit as a support act - in 3 weeks. I'd love to accompany a real flamenco singer, however we don't have too many of them in deepest Somerset, UK :)

I used to play bass in a Reggae band and have also dabbled with keyboards and programmed music. Did a few Drum'n'Bass tracks in the mid-1990's. I don't get time to do that anymore, though.

I play lots of instruments, but mostly fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin for traditional american folk music and dancers.
I also make violins.

Although I've stated it before on other threads on this Forum, my current guitar rig consists of a Godin LG electric guitar, a Seymour Duncan 100 watt Convertable 1x12" Combo amp, a smaller PA amp that needs to be converted for guitar usage ( Bogen CHB-35) and an Art SGE Multifex unit.

At some point, I'd Like to acquire another Seymour Duncan amp of the same spec listed above and either 2 2x12 sealed back speaker cabs, or 2 4x12 sealed back speaker cabs for stereo operation. Also I would like to get a higher quality guitar like a Gibson LP/SG or LP Special, an old Ibanez Artist, or an old Yamaha SG/SBG 500.

I'm learning the drums, but don't have a kit of my own in the house, as we don't really have much room. :(

Has Seymour Duncan made amps?

Yeah, The Convertable 100, was all tube, 100 Watts output, with two channels of modular preamps. It came in 1x12" combo, and head/4x12" cab configurations.
They also made a convertable 60 in 1x12" combo , and a rackmount head configuration.

The Convertable 60 also had active Boost/Cut tone controls whilst the Convertable 100 had a tonestack more in line with blackface and silverface Fender amps.

They also made a series of Class A Combo amps in the early 90's.

There were also Solid State Bass amps made during the 80's and early 90's, I'm not particularly familiar wth them, though I think that they could output 400 Watts into a 2 ohm load.

You can find more info on their Convertable series guitar amps, and preamp modules here:

You'll hate me even more if I tell you how much I paid for it :D.

$90. Some punk rock guy won it in an online contest and sold it because he hated the way it looked.

Sounds like a score to me. I have no idea of what there Current offerings are like, however their original American made guitars from the 80's were really good instruments. Some of their import stuff was good, but most of it was complete crap.

Your tone will also benefit from getting a quality used tube amp. A Traynor YBA -1 and a sealed back cabinet is a good route. A smaller Traynor YGM-3 is absolutely excellent after replacing the Marsland speaker with a Celestion G12M-25, aka Celestion Greenback. --I recommend early Traynors due to the fact that they copy the Marshall/ Fender Tweed Bassman circuit, and they're still relatively cheap.

Used to play the piano and clarinet.
Now only make use of my singing voice.

Would love to play the flute.
My brother was a child prodigy on the flute.
He went from grade 1-8 in two years. Distinctions.

I play piano and electric guitar. I have played guitar for about six years and piano for less then one year. I do enjoy playing but I don't think that I have the dedication to take either of them seriously (or rather I am dedicated to doing other things) so I am more of a music listener than player really. I sometimes find electric guitar a very frustrating instrument as they are damn near impossible to get into and stay in tune too an acceptable level all over the range.
