Yes.
However, because it makes me tired (I don't experience a buzz from it) I usually only have coffee when I can afford to have slower reaction times, drowsiness, unclear thinking and little sense of urgency. So, if I want to be productive then coffee is a big no-no for me. Otherwise I'll be too zoned out or I'll end up napping for a few hours. I have drunk coffee before in order to relax, since in a small amount it can make me feel at ease.
There's a thin line between the amount that I can drink that will leave me just feeling relaxed, and the amount that will make me want to curl up in bed to sleep. I find it rather odd just how much my thoughts can slow down after having coffee. Makes me feel sluggish and my reflexes become slower. Which is fine for leisurely days, but I tend to avoid it most of the time. It also temporarily kills my creativity and motivation because all I want to do is stare into space instead afterwards.
Whenever I have a caffeinated drink with a considerable amount of sugar in, it's the weirdest feeling. Either the sugar counteracts the drowsiness that the caffeine is responsible for, or I flip-flop between hyper and sleepy. It goes like this: "I want to run around! No, sleep first. But I wanna see everything here! Or, I could just lie down".
I certainly couldn't drink coffee every morning like some people do, I'd be a zombie! The smell is usually enough to make me feel relaxed, and in small doses it's usually not too bad. For some reason, I seem to have extreme reactions to quite a few things. I'm a complete light-weight with alcohol, it doesn't take much sugar to make me hyper, and caffeine slows me down.
