Okay, on to my personal beliefs. On a good day, I will test the following results at the belief-o-matic (q.v.):

1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Orthodox Quaker (98%)
3. Liberal Quakers (92%)
4. Unitarian Universalism (82%)
5. Seventh Day Adventist (73%)
6. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (68%)
7. Eastern Orthodox (66%)
8. Roman Catholic (66%)
9. Bah' Faith (65%)
10. Mahayana Buddhism (64%)
11. Reform Judaism (64%)
12. Theravada Buddhism (64%)
13. New Age (58%)
14. Sikhism (57%)
15. Neo-Pagan (57%)
16. Jainism (54%)
17. Hinduism (54%)
18. Secular Humanism (53%)
19. Orthodox Judaism (49%)
20. Taoism (49%)
21. Islam (44%)
22. New Thought (43%)
23. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist)(39%)
24. Scientology (38%)
25. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (37%)
26. Nontheist (33%)
27. Jehovah's Witness (27%)

On a bad day, it may be something like this:

1. Liberal Quakers (100%)
2. Reform Judaism (99%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (97%)
4. Sikhism (95%)
5. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (94%)
6. Bahá'í Faith (89%)
7. Jainism (87%)
8. Mahayana Buddhism (85%)
9. Hinduism (84%)
10. Orthodox Judaism (82%)
11. Neo-Pagan (80%)
12. Orthodox Quaker (77%)
13. Islam (76%)
14. Theravada Buddhism (72%)
15. New Age (71%)
16. New Thought (71%)
17. Scientology (66%)
18. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (59%)
19. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (58%)
20. Seventh Day Adventist (57%)
21. Secular Humanism (57%)
22. Taoism (54%)
23. Eastern Orthodox (48%)
24. Roman Catholic (48%)
25. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (44%)
26. Nontheist (41%)
27. Jehovah's Witness (33%)

When I take the Catholic test, I may come out either as this:

Quote:
You are a liberal Catholic
You love the church, but you'd like to see some changes in certain areas--birth control, divorce, the role of women--where official teaching seems disconnected from contemporary experience. Your favorite hymn is probably "On Eagle's Wings" and your favorite pope is John XXIII. You admire Dorthy Day and like the philosophy behind movies like "Dead Man Walking."

or this:

Quote:
You are a progressive Catholic
As far as you're concerned, the church needs to make radical changes in its teachings and structure to bring about social justice, especially on issues relating to minorities and women. You admire people like Mitch Snyder and Daniel Berrigan, and think Catholics need to embrace the theology of writers like John Dominic Crossan. Your idea of a great movie is "The Last Temptation of Christ."

or, on days such as this, exactly in the middle of these two.

But I usually don't like to label my beliefs; it will give people the wrong idea.

I was raised Roman-Catholic, but now I basically live by the rules of Karma. I have no specific religion.....

Karma in a nut-shell is if you were to do something good to someone or something, good fortune will come yr. way, but if you do something bad to someone or something, you will "get what's comin' to you".

that is the commonly held interpretation of karma, true.

it's more about action, though, which is what the word means. i suggest getting on the Wiki ;)

I went to a progressive Christian school, and my grandma is a socialist/progressive Roman Catholic. None of my other family are religious. I am probably an agnostic, but I obey the Christian teachings of Love and Compassion for all individuals. I rarely attend church, only for school services.

I'm a Deist -- the belief in that God created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control or any influence over life.

My spiritual beliefs are Buddhist in nature, my core beliefs are reincarnation, karma and universal compassion. However I do not follow any Buddhist "doctrine" or teachings.

I usually tend to try to be as rational as possible in my thinking. However some things cannot be reasoned about, such as the nature of life after death, this is where beliefs help. My beliefs also reflect my base nature, I've believed in rebirth since very young, it seems so much more logical than special "heaven" and "hell" places. And well, I'm gentle, forgiving and non-violent so karma and universal compassion come pretty naturally to me :).

I'm Gnostic.

I am curious why you chose not to include Catholics and Jehovah's witness as "Christian Based".

Catholics are a pretty large denomination that probably deserve their own category. So would Mormons, but these polls don't allow for too much room.

i dont really know. i dont think anyone knows the "way" to god. i think it would be pretty ret*d if there was only one way to god. since he didnt make all people the same. i think religion was created back in the day to create order for a people and to set rules of how civilized sociaty should act. and nothing more its out of hand today. people get real pissy over religion. and who can take credit for the one god theory. modern religion is way over done. is jesus god? i dont know whos to say that he was just a person suffering from a mental illness? now hold on before you get all dont be talking s**t over our lord and savior crap. im just saying were you there? when he spoke he could have been suffering from some mental problem. highly unlikely but nobody knows. why i say this is because dont you think its a little odd that an all knowing perfect god needed to become a man to know what it was like to be tested with sin? dont you think he would have already known what it was like to be tempted? since hes god? it just doesnt make sence to me thats all.

So it was simply a population choice and not a question of their dogma. That makes sense. Thank you.

I consider myself a theist with mystical tendencies.
I have no set path, and no set leaders.
I take what I want from a lot of spiritual traditions and discard the rest.
I also do not believe in a personal God.
I believe that it is all no thing.

I believe i know what is important in my life, and i enjoy learning and knowing about the universe. I don't believe deeply that a "superior" force exists, but i believe in a concept of existance, and i preform for it and with it for my enjoyment and possibly both of ours. I think i have a belief structure, but i wouldn't call it a religion. For i have no reverence for the concept i have of what others may call god. Nor do i believe there is a correct way of behaving. I don't believe in a creator, or a govenor of the universe. Nor do i consider the concept which i speak of "super natural." And i wouldn't say i pursue this idea with zeal.
