So terrorists ought to be free to attack citizens in other countries?

I don't believe anyone has said this. You're relying on a dishonest strawman because you don't have any honest argument to rely upon.

Revenge is not the answer.

Tell that to Israel. Israel consistently responds with disproportionate force that's intended to impose collective punishment, but somehow that's supposed to be overlooked because they're the designated good guys.

Revenge and retaliation are not the same thing.

Yes, and disproportionate retaliation is well within the definition of revenge.

Do you have anything worthwhile to say, or just more word games?

To some of us, words have meanings.

To others, words are merely tokens that they can use indiscriminately to support their point even if the words don't support their point.

He makes a great point there. If there is a power vacuum, someone is going to fill it and you don't want whoever fills it to be your sworn enemies.

That implies that there's some power that could fill the void that would be acceptable to Netanyahu/IDF, the reality is that it's just another excuse, if they felt this strongly, they could always have intervened to help prop Assad up.

I swear, some of you people are just going to continue being Israel's lapdogs until they decide that Washington D.C. is part of greater Israel and as such, the Israelis are entitled to it.

Blathering a lot, aren't you?

I'm often critical of Israel, but I do recognize that they have every right to defend themselves from terrorist attacks. Stop the terrorist attacks and I'll go back to being very critical of Israel because of their unwarranted attack on the USS Liberty.

As for the bombings in Syria, the real question for me is whether they are endeavoring to limit the impact to civilians. In my limited reading about it, I haven't read about any civilians being hit at all by the strikes. The strikes are reportedly all against military sites, not homes and farms.

This isn't defense, this is offense. They regularly engage in "defense" that suspiciously winds up doing more damage to civilians than what they're allegedly defending themselves from.

As far as Syria goes, it doesn't matter what the impact on civilians is, they're not engaged in any sort of legitimate defense there as Syria hasn't attacked them and we don't yet know what the new regime is going to do.

Really, it's just the usual IDF using American money to terrorize the region for some vague reason.

Israel has every right to fight back against those who attack them. They have no obligation whatsoever to just sit back and take it. When terrorists attack them and rape, torture, and murder their women and children, you had better believe that they have every right to put a stop to such attacks.

Of course, that is in relation to Hamas.

In Syria, they have a vested interest in making sure that terrorists don't get access to materials that can be used to attack them.

Nothing in Syria attacked Israel and there's no more Hezbollah presence in Syria, they got beaten by the rebels too.... so what exactly Israel is "fighting back" there? They are fighting BACK WHO? The word "BACK" in the term means some entity was fighting them from Syrian territories, can you name it? Even Assad himself during the last war was not allowing any rockets to be launched from Syria into Israel.

What Israel is doing there is simply an act of war.

Look, are you just going to defend Israel blindly without any evidence why it's a defense act? If so then maybe just stop discussing here.

Based on your word games you fall into the latter, not the former. :nerdy:
