Johnny Depp. While I've enjoyed almost everything he's starred in, I'm especially obsessed with my Top 5:
1. Alice in Wonderland (I'm obsessed with pretty much everyone and everything in this movie, not just the Mad Hatter)
2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
3. Edward Scissorhands
4. Sweeney Todd
5. Pirates of the Caribbean

My non-Johnny Depp-related interests include:
- Victorian-era England
- Imaginary friends/worlds (my own as well as other peoples')
- Psychology
- Sexual fetishism/Paraphilias
- Hamtaro (has more to do with the cute art style than the actual show/characters)

Science fiction in general... particularly for television sci fi I go for British shows. Doctor Who, Blake Seven, Sapphire and Steel. American Sci Fi is original Trek (I can tolerate the spin offs... must be one of very few who really like Enterprise) and the remake of BattleStar Galactica, and what I've seen so far of Caprica. I like sci fi to make you think.

Music... quite an eclectic range, everything from the Kinks (yay Cockney Rebel!) Bob Dylan, Laughing Lenny (sorry, Leonard Cohen) Irish folk music, classical music... my favourites are Bach, Handel, Mozart... operas, my favourite is Verdi.

Instruments I play, classical guitar, piano, recorder, penny whistle, autoharp... a few other "folky" instruments. My favourite to play is classical guitar, flamenco and classical. I'm also mezzo soprano, and sing in a local choir.

Chess. I'm no good, but I obsess about it, and love reading past games.

Go. This I'm actually quite good at.

History... the period keeps shifting, but sometimes something will draw my attention to a period and place in history, and I have to find everything out about it.

Reading compulsively.

Writing compulsively.

Languages... I love to learn new languages, and this is probably my special talent, since I find it very easy to learn languages. I speak more than I'm comfortable to admit to a fair degree of fluency. When I tell people how many languages I speak they rarely believe me.

I used to be into running, but got very depressed, and haven't run since. I need to get back into it.

The Bible.

That's it.

Oh, this is awesome...this is how I think of people! Probably explains why I find myself hanging out with Aspies so much, because I like people who have STRONG interests, who really know what they're talking about, and it's not something banal like sports or fashion. If I know your interests and really mesh with them, then I feel like I KNOW a person in a way I don't connect with those of more...um...superficial interests.

Let's see...

My faith
Star Trek: DS9 and the Cardassian race in particular (I do Trek fanfic)
Writing
nuBsG (though Caprica I tuned out on)
Languages
Politics
Music
Drawing
Animals
Personality studies
Synesthesia (I have it and love hearing from others who do)
