Hi, i am a recently (in the last year) a self diagnosed aspie. ive been seriously struggling with many things for most of my life and it has been kind of a release to finally find the cause of it all. theres been a lot of coming to terms with it and trying to understand it.
Im basically on here, like you, to find people to relate to and to talk to. I currently only have 3 people in my life. my mum who i see once a week, my son who i am not able to talk to properly as he is only 2, and my boyfriend who i normally see 3 nights a week, but were going through a rocky patch. ive never had a true friend, i normally never go beyond having acquaintances, people i just simply know somehow.
Im hoping that by coming on here, i will finally find people who understand me enough to accept me and be patient with me and want to talk to me
I know its a little depressing, i struggle greatly with life, im looking for support
Thankyou

Welcome! I have two significant people in my life and my therapist... where does one put the therapist? Friend or expense... or expensive friend?

This is a great place to hang out when you want to have a bit of a chat....

thanyou everyone for the welcome. its nice to know im not the onlylonely person on here. its sometimes so frustrating to not have anyone to talk to, and theres a possibility i may soon lose my boyfriend, the person i talk to the most, the most amazing person i have ever met. in fact, the only person who knows of my aspergers
im hoping life gets better somewhere down the line

The only person who knows? Aaaaargh! That's distressing! When I found out I was an Aspie I started bringing it up in conversation with most people I know. I mean, people already knew I was eccentric, and I thought it was pretty interesting to be able to tell them that I recently discovered that I was genetically predestined to being a nerd. (Anyway, that's the way I decided to put it. They were amused. Most of them have never heard of Asperger's Syndrome.)

Well, at least a lot of people at this site are gonna know about it now, so you can relax and behave in a manner that's normal for you rather than normal for the rest of the world.

I just joined this site, too, and I'm encouraged by it.
