I was in the middle of a long-winded post and hit submit and then was redirected to the "Worngplanet.net is currently experiencing a very high amount of traffic"

It's 2:00 if the F-ing morning! This sh*t doesn't happen in the middle of the day!

you know what? Get a bigger server or something or quit begging for my money. NO OTHER SITE has ever pulled that kind of crap AND THEY DON'T HAVE HALF AS MUCH ADS AND BANNERS AS THIS PLACE! So which begs the question, where's all the money going, Alex? Do you come by the forums every so often and moderate and admin or do you let other people do that and you just collect a check?

aspies moderating aspies. Talk about lose-lose.

Use your browser's "back" button and all will be well.

I didn't notice a 'WrongPlanet Supporter' banner on your avatar, Digger1. If you are offended by WP 'begging' for your money and unhappy with the individuals with Asperger's Syndrome moderating the forum, perhaps you would be happier elsewhere?

I did that.

and sins, you're just like my father, "if you don't like it, there's the door."

What I'm saying is, Alex has all this revenue coming in from supporters and ads and merchandise, one would think he'd be able to afford a better server, one capable of handling a measly 500+ people on the forum at a time.

I have no idea how the costs and revenue stack up with this forum, but the one time I thought about taking over the running of a place, costs and all, I realized I couldn't possibly do it. Owning a forum is a giant obligation.

Yes, the issues with posting are frustrating. We've all experienced it. I try to remember to copy to clip board long or careful posts before hitting "submit." This isn't the only place I've had problems; many forums outright lose your post mid-air. You learn to compensate.

When it's 2:00am where you are, it's the middle of the day on the other side of the world. Not all WP members are in the same country.

You mean it's not 2 AM word-wide the same time it is here? That's something that hasn't crossed my mind. Don't insult my intelligence. I just would have thought that high noon (EST) the site would be bottle-necking, not 1 AM Sydney time.

I'm confused. I'm wondering if what you wrote didn't come out right. Because the two are only 2 hours apart. And only one if you actually meant current US Eastern time (daylight savings time, EDT), rather than Eastern Standard Time.

and you don't think that if a user sees a problem, they should speak up about it? Rather, they should be passive sheep about it and bow to your authority.

my authority? You think I get any money from the support of this website? you think I have any reason to feel one way or another about what Alex does with what ever revenue he might get from google ads and Twubby or what ever that big eyed dolls name is? I don't know if you have heard, but there is a recession going on, the heyday of the internet being a cash cow is hit just as hard as anything else. Few of our members have much more to send in, either, and none of us want WP to just wink out of existence one day.

So my authority is to keep the forums civil. I am not paid and do not speak in an official capacity for WrongPlanet.net. I have no other authority than that. I don't even have the power of being grumpy at an old member without having my being a moderator shoved in my face.

Then perhaps you'd be happier as a non-mod

Exactly. It seems that moderators always seems to come running to the defense of the site if it comes under attack, however civil as if he or she's been turned into some kind of zealot or disciple. "Hallowed is Alex. Alex can do no wrong".

Just let me voice my grievances and be done and be done with it. I await the absent one's reply.

By the way, are there any special benefits to becoming a WP supporter other than getting that banner above your user name?

Pride of ownership, of course. :)

Yes. They reveal to you all the secrets of the universe.
