I tried to find a Dutch forum for so-called aspies, but failed to find a decent one, so here I am. I went to find people with Asperger's Syndrome because I'm suspected to have it. I had never really heard anything about it until my psychologist said she thinks I do have some "traits" lots of people with Asperger's have. So I went to read a lot about Asperger's, and LOTS of what I read I can relate to so much.

I've talked to two psychiatrists as well, they say they do think about a "milder" case of Asperger's Syndrome, but that they would need to research it properly before making the diagnosis (of course). So I'm now awaiting psychological research, which will probably take a couple more months before there's any room.

Anyway, here I am, so hai and I'll see what I'll do around here, lol.

Hoi, welkom hier.

Nice you have found WP as a forum. There are some Dutch fora for autistic people, but not a big forum targeted towards Aspies. The advantage of WP is, it has a lot of different members and a lot can be learned from them.

There is a Dutch-language topic somewhere, for specific Dutch situations or just some talking in Dutch.

I hope your diagnosis clears some things up for yourself. And a 'milder' case still has its specific problems, so this is forum is a good place to post your questions. Not all answers will be in your alley, but they could still be usable.

Have fun here!

Thanks, I've seen that Dutch topic. It's kinda limited though, but I'll find my way around in English.
You know, this website should have been named Correct Planet really ;)

Haha, I like "Correct Planet!"

I used to think I had a "mild" case of Asperger's but after taking autistic/aspie quizzes I believe I've just adapted and compromised a lot with the NT world!

Well, sometimes I do think that. At age ten I made it my "mission" to adapt as much as possible, which made me go through hell lol, but it paid off now. I've done things and experienced things I never thought I would, just because I forced myself to do them. I failed lots, got laughed at, been through numerous of embarrassing moments, but looking back, I'm happy I've done things the way I did.

Hi elancee!! !!

Since discovering I probably have AS, I too realized I've put much effort into functioning in the NT world. People at work, for instance, find it hard to believe when I say I don't do well with people. I don't "naturally" do well with people; I have to work at it all the time.
