Hi.

I'm new here so I don't know if this has been raised in the past...
But I'd like to ask if you aspie, or you who knows someone who has asperger's syndrome, do we look younger then we are?
I have this theory that every aspie looks younger than they are. May even be every autistic person. But I don't know.

See, people has always told me I looked younger.
But today I saw this old friend from my grandma's at the supermarket, and she looked at me and said to my grandma "wow, she is so big, I remember when she used to be a just little girl. What is she now, about 13, 14?"
and I thought "WHAT THE HELL! I'm 19!" :x

I mean, I *was* wearing a cute colorful dress. but still! 13?! I've passed for 15 last year when I took a trip to Scotland. I paid half because of it. But 13?! Seriously....

Anyway, can you share your opinions about this? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks. :)

You will be thankful later.

It's the complete opposite for me. In high school, everyone thought I was in my twenties. Currently, I am twenty seven, and I always get mistaken for being in my late thirties(since I was twenty one, actually). I've had full facial hair and towering over 6 feet high since I was 14, and my philosophic/intellectual personality, have mostly contributed to this. If I shaved and acted similarly to those my age, I would definitely be construed as being younger. I suppose it comes to no surprise that any of the few friends, girlfriends, and acquaintances I have made in my life time, were always significantly older than myself. 8)

same here, i used to be really tall for my age back when i was 10-16, and people would think i was 16-18, now i am almost 21, and i have had people mistake me for a 16-18 year old if i am clean shaven, if im not, i can pass myself off as a 21-24 year old, which has its uses, as i enjoy walking into the liqour store and not getting carded sometimes.

I too, am 19 and I get asked if I want the 12 and under kids menus all the time. It's very frustrating... because I just want people to leave me alone, not coo about "how mature you are"

I'm 30. Everyone always thinks I'm ~20. I've always looked younger than my age.

I'm 29 and almost always get carded for alcohol. It seems to depend on what I'm wearing and how much facial hair I have at the time as well. I was shocked I didn't get carded yesterday, I stopped by a drive-thru daiquiri shack on my way home from work and they had a sign that said "WE ID" but I didn't get carded as I suspected I would. It was in the ghetto, though, so they probably only have the sign to keep the cops off their backs. One woman at work calls me "baby face" as well. But in addition to the baby face, I also have a particularly high-pitched voice for my age as well. It embarrasses me at times, but most people don't say anything. If I am hoarse and I stop through a restaurant drive-thru, I am sometimes referred to as "ma'am". Ugh.

I read on a forum once that someone thought it was because we use our facial muscles less. This makes us look younger because obviously, we won't get the same lines and creases in our face, that most people get by our age. I don't know if this is true but it makes sense to me....

I have a high pitched voice as well. It constantly annoys me. :(
And for guys, I think you have the facial hair that might help get you to look older. but what do we do? not even make up helps my face look older.
