Transitions and Adult Milestones
The following is a list of items I've observed most adults to eventually obtain (although they may be lacking a couple of them).
1. Which items have you obtained, and at approximately what age did you obtain them?
Specify whether it is through choice if you don't have them, and add more items to the list if you think of anything.
Bank account (not opened in childhood)
Driver’s license
Checkbook
Credit card
Part-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications)
Full-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications)
Insurance (any kind)
Able to live independently without basic support
Marriage/long-term relationship
Children
Own home
2. If applicable, what sort of support or accommodations would you require in order to obtain the items you want?

Bank account - In my 20's. I was on social security from 18, and i had to get a bank account in my mid 20's when the government required you to put your social security cheque through an account rather than cash it at the counter as was the previous method.

cheque book - 42
credit card - 43
part time job - top 5% in State in school final exams, job was getneral shit-kicking, cleaning, menial tasks, serving.
full-time job - never (oh - once for two weeks, - a call centre job -but i don't count it because i never lasted long enough to qualify for any full-time perks like sickness days etc.

live independently - don't know if i can. I have never lived independently without government housing or government assistance and now I have someone here who helps me enormously with the logistics of daily life.

children - 1 at 40
own home - 43.

I figured out how to use that to withdraw money when I was about 19. About a month ago (age 20) I figured out how to deposit money.

Age 20 - worked as holiday casual, so not really part time actually... (I worked part time for my mum since I was 13, but that doesn't really count for obvious reasons)
Not yet.
Not yet.
How so do you mean? I am able to live independently (at college) with monetary support, and my meals cooked for me and my room cleaned once a week... so not complete independence really... but at the same time I can live at home by myself for a week or so and completely look after myself including cooking and cleaning... so I'm not sure - can I say 1/2 (this all from age 19).

Well, mainly it would be a combination of two things; me getting older and smarter and learning more stuff, and also help with basic organization and accounting and that sort of thing.

Bank account (not opened in childhood) -- My parents opened an account for me when I was 17; I still use that.
Driver’s license -- Nope, and not likely to get one for many years
Checkbook -- No
Credit card -- My dad set up a credit card linked to his account, but I don't think that counts
Part-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications) -- 17, crappy checkout job. Highly gifted, so capable of much more
Full-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications) -- 21, traineeship in library studies. Severely decreased my functioning ability in all other areas of life, so went back to part time after the traineeship was up. The job is way too easy for me.
Able to live independently without basic support -- Nope
Marriage/long-term relationship -- Hell no
Children -- See above
Own home -- One day, one day..... preferably one I have built myself, out in the jungle or something
I'm only 22, so I have plenty of time to get those other things, but I don't think it's possible for me to live totally independently AND work. I can do one or the other, but not both. So in order to live independently, I'd probably need government support of some kind. Which may not even count as independence.
Driver’s license; Never
Checkbook; Nope
Credit card; Nope
Part-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications); Yep (27)
Full-time job (specify if large discrepancy between ability level/qualifications); Nope
Insurance (any kind); Medical
Able to live independently without basic support; Ha. No
Marriage/long-term relationship; Had one (25 to 27); couldn't handle it mentally (all was perfect and fine in all other ways)
Children; No
Own home; No
27, and a new brain would probably help.
