Looking on the ground while walking.

Does anybody do this? I did for many years, habbit i geuss.

Yeah, I did it a lot as a kid. I constantly got told top look up while walking. Now I just look inside shop windows when I'm supposed to be looking in front of me.

I do it as well. It has found me many $20 bills laying on the ground that no one else seemed to notice.

I've done this for as long as I can remember. It's another thing that always made me stand out. I used to collect toy gun bullets when I was younger, I don't think I've ever missed a single one on my path.
I've stopped doing it for a while, but now I'm doing it again. It lowers my stress level when I go out.

I loved to as a kid, always finding treasures. Also I was afraid of tripping. After getting out the army, I look down for a different reason. Trip wires, claymores etc.. Still trying to block that out. If at the beach, you can't get me to look up.

I did that, and still do sometimes. But a friend once pointed it out to me and I stopped doing it as much. Before I'd never realized I did it.

I had never really thought about it much, but I remember a specific incident from the 2nd grade: I was in a Catholic School (last year there, went to Public School afterwards (not related to story)) and we were walking to church while being accompanied by 8th graders. The student I was with simply asked "Hey, why are you walking with your head down?" I said I didn't know and he said "You should stop, it makes you look weird" with an smirk. A couple 8th grade girls then giggled and I put my head back down. I wasn't sad or anything. Just felt like it.

The story isn't really that entertaining or significantt, it's just an anecdote I was reminded of when reading the topic title.

I've always done this, although i think i've done this more so the older i've got.

I look at two general groups of things while I am walking.
Either:
#1 I am scanning the sky or tops of trees for no particular reason, or
#2 I am staring at the ground, counting cracks in the sidewalk and small items that happen to be there, while also keeping a lookout for antpiles and searching for interesting plants.

Anything else beyond that which requires eye-contact will get a delayed and/or skewed reaction.

I still unintentionally keep my head down when I'm walking, but I'm still able to pay attention to where I'm going. A lot of people were bothered by this. My parents would shot at me to stand up straight, and some guys at high school would tell me to "look like I have a pair".

Sure do. It's better than looking at the Earthlings and risking eye contact, which I still hate.

All the time, unless the sky catches my attention.
