Just diagnosed

Hello everyone,

My name is Wesley and I live in Indianapolis (I hate city life, but have no choice). I'm 44 years old. I tutor children individually in math and language arts. I'm married to an incredibly patient woman. Family wise, I just still have my mother and one brother but they live quite a distance away and I'm not sure that they would understand my problems anyway. I have a dog and a cat. No friends really, but the people that I do have contact with I am extremely loyal to. My interests are art and reading. I also like tinkering with bits of spare electronic junk.
All of my life I have had "this thing" hovering over me and am just now finding out what it is. I've been loitering (?), lurking (?) (not sure what to call it) on this site for a few weeks now just feeling the place out. This seems like a very supportive place. I've never really been very good at asking or accepting help from others but it seems lately that I've sunk so far now that I really do need it.
Just recently, I've started drawing again. It's the first time I've picked up a pencil in about fifteen years. It's about the only thing that helps with my noise issues nowadays...

Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. Sorry if it was long winded or confusing, it's just that this is all very illuminating to me.

Okay, warm welcome to join in and talk with us. Im glad you got your diagnosis as it apparently have bugged you in a lot of thoughts. No wonder, it has with many of us who got diagnosed in adult life.
Im glad you found your artpencil again. That means you got some inspiration somewhere and hopefully are a bit in a better mood. As an artist I know that the artskills had stepped back when life has been too difficult.

I hope you will enjoy this site and find it beneficial to share and to see others share!

I didn't know that I had Asperger's until I was 49, so I know what you're going through. I knew there was something wrong, but I didn';t know the cause of it.
