Would you? And to what?

Be as creative, original as you want, but nothing against the rules of WP.

For the record, I would not. I like my username.

I would. it kinda bothers me when people here use my name :p like back in those days when I worked in a crappy bar where everyone had to have name tags on their uniforms, and there would always be some weirdly smiley customer who'd insist on calling me by my name. I really hated that

As for me, no I wouldn't change it. Sometimes people refer to me as blue or iwb, but I don't mind.

I just don't like to use names, it feels too personal.

I'm happy with my name. Wouldn't have picked the name in the first place if I didn't like it.

I can certainly relate. I hate when my first name have to be mentioned to people who "dont need it". I once also had a job where we had to wear nametags but I insisted to not use my real name and the boss agreed to give me a tag with another name. That was brilliant and didnt feel personal then.,

As for my username here. I also think mine is perfect. No reason to change it. It was a well thought about choise!

Yes I too know what you mean. I feel uneasy when people call me by my name. I prefer it when they call me by my nickname (which is not i_w_b).

No, I would not change my user name. Yes its only my online persona, but my great grandfather on my native side of the family gave it to me when i was 4 years old. It means owl eyes, He said i was wise beyond my years. I use it to honor him.

No. I've had this username for years now and I use it on every site I go on. It would feel incredibly weird to be called anything else online.

Yes. I was stuck for a username when I joined and so chose my car ('06 Toyota Matrix XRS) which I don't even own anymore.

Now I'm embarking on a career as a novelist which essentially means all hope of anonymity went out the window. Such is life.

I have had it changed on a couple of other sites, but I don't know if they can do that on this one.

If Paramount or the estate of Gene Roddenberry contacts me and says 'lose the handle', I suppose I would. But I go to too many sites to have to have a different handle.

Now the avatars I change whenever I feel like it; since I make all of them in Poser, or Bryce, I can only get after myself...

So far, so good, except for perhaps anna-banana. I like that name, however.

For what it is worth, I like the user names here...most are really creative, and after a while, I begin to think of the members in terms of their usernames.

No doubt I would call them by those names if I met them in real life.

No, despite the "o" at the end being a spelling mistake (it was supposed to be an "n"), I like my username now. It just wouldn't seem right to change it.

I dunno, really. I would probably keep having my real name as part of my username, because, contrary to what anna-banana said, I quite like it when people online call me by my name.
