My whole life seems to have been taken up with endless infatuations with women. It's been happening as long as I can remember and still goes on.

I was married for ten years. At first things were great, but after a few years and 3 children later, I realised that I no longer liked her, and couldn't stand being with her. We seperated three years ago and except for a brief relationship that lasted a couple of months, am still living on my own.

My question is this....... Was it love or infatuation when I met my wife?

I would be interested in peoples thoughts.

I am questioning my ability to love now too. Have had moments where I honestly believed I was in love, but it turns out I was just lusting after that person and it was just an infatuation. I am slightly concerned about this because I am now questioning my ability to love full stop.

most of the time wanting something is better than having something.

How do you expect us to know from so little information? If at the time you really wanted to be with her and stay together and valued her happiness as much as your own, then it was love; when we're in love we want it to last but sometimes it doesn't. It's no reflection on you.

Infatuation has happened more often to me. Some people really stand out.

infatuation is not always romantic.

I've been infatuated with people in a non romantic way and currently am at the moment.

I've never been in love.

That's true, because it's not always serious.
