I feel like I can't stand to have my eye's opened. It's too much stuff to look at. Closesing my eye's helps a bit but it almost feels like I just want to....It's to hard to explain its like When I'm dreaming (asleep or daydreaming) It just calms me more than real life. I think its because I can focus on less stuff.

Basically I just feel like I have waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much s**t to look at in my field of vision.

I haven't been diagnosed yet but and autism specialist doctor is looking at the vineland 2 test and as soon as he studies how to administer it I will be the first person he diagnosis with or without aspergers.

I have no dout that I have it I hate social situations don't know what to do Extream empathy with very absorbing daydreams (I can do it for over an hour just day dreaming and its like I'm there almost and I will even do the hand movements. especialy if I am day dreaming about talking to someone) You know rehearsal of conversations which I do ALL THE TIME.

But anyway Is that (feeling like there is to much to look at in my feild of view.) what sensory overload is?

Sometimes I just feel like shuting my eyes to chill out.

Please anser much appreciated.

ps I have more symptoms that I listed but this isn't a "do I have aspergers?" thread ITs a is this sensory overload thread

thank you so much

ps just the typing structure says I have it.
Most people type in paragraphs I don't but anyway thats off topic

so please anser my question if you will thank you so much.

I read today that wearing glasses that screen out parts of the visible spectrum can help reduce visual overload.

You certainly seem to have sensory issues. My eyes are very sensitive to light, and to what is in my visual field. I have my windows covered with blackout curtains, walls are bare, and I have almost no furniture in my home. I wear very dark sunglasses when I go out, and avoid going out during the day. I've also trained myself to walk with my eyes closed, opening them only every ten to twenty steps to catch up on what's happening. I use my ears to fill in other needed information.

Medication can help in this area, as can lifestyle adjustments. Some people even find elimination diets (e.g.: no gluten or casein) helpful. Lots of people here have similar issues and will share their successes.

Could have light sensitivity. I have that and I can't bare being without my glasses. My vision is fine, it's just over sensitive. The glasses sort of soften the image in front of me and put objects into more focus.
My eyes sting and blur without them.

Another sensory issue I have with eyesight is seeing too much at once, like crowds. Have you got that too? I almost shut down when I was lining up to see Harry Potter.

We write the same too. :)
