MCDD? Did I get mis-diagnosed?
I was diagnosed with Asperger's last year, after seeking psychological help for depression and other various issues.
I just learned about Multiple Complex Developmental Disorder yesterday. As far I know it's not in the DSM or anything yet. Most of the information I found when I googled it was academic journals, but the wikipedia article (it's not great though) explains it pretty simply. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_c ... l_disorder
I thought AS explained my life but MCDD is a perfect description of my experience. I've always had a problem with "fabrication" telling elaborate false stories, although oddly enough I'm overly honest when it comes to anything that matters. I also confuse my fantasy life and reality and I've had memories of things that people around me assure me did not happen. I see supernatural things but I'm not sure if this is a psychotic symptom or if it's real. Because the close people in my life have experienced some of these supernatural things too.
I'm also kind of scared about a connection between MCDD and schizophrenia, which runs in my family.
PS: If you want to know what I mean about the supernatural, read some of my blog entries. The history category is probably the best picture of it: http://psychicwerecat.wordpress.com/category/history/
The older ones have more explanation of this stuff, particularly the Top Hat Guy and weird dreams and opening gates. I almost forgot about the car wreck dream too - that seems most obviously possibly psychotic to me.
A lot of these things happened with my friend, who has borderline personality (even though she denies it that's what two different psychologists told her), so I don't know if it could be a shared delusion maybe.
I don't know, do I seem psychotic or schizophrenic?
Considering MCDD isn't even really... that recognized yet I wouldn't worry about it. If you can get services for whatever you have under AS, it doesn't matter. From what I understand MCDD is a mood disorder, autism, and schizophrenia all present in youth. Oh also I don't think having bad dreams is psychotic.
The supernatural stuff can be hard to sort out from vivid dreams and delusions. It's useful to find another level headed, experienced psychic to work with to help you discern what's real supernatural, what's possibly symbolic psychic stuff, and what's brain garbage. There are focusing techniques, ways of testing the spirit for its honesty (some are scum), etc.
