Trust me, if you live in the UK and listen to your local radio station, you'll know if you have Heart FM. They recently took over the majority of local radio stations (4 in the local area where I am) and now they just play the same crap over and over and over and over....

I am fed up of hearing Lady Gaga every time I turn the radio. I go green with nausea whenever I hear Enrique Iglesias (taking back my love or whatever), I scream when they play the cover version of 'umbrella' and for goodness sakes, Michael Jackson had loads of number 1s so why do they insist on playing merely 3 of his songs over and over? Every now and then, I hear the radio in the evening. It says 'club classics, more music variety' and the first time it said that I was thinking 'well great' except now they seem to play the same club classics over and over again.

Not great for a radio station who's slogan is 'more music variety...'

Oh and by the way, I only hear it in the car because I go out with other people who like to listen to the station, so no. I can't just turn it off...

You need a cuddle. I can truly sympathize.

I recommend listening to Absolute Radio, which is ideal to blow the f**k out of today's poppy s**t.

A guy work with has Smash Hits on all the time. I keep on turning it over to radio 3.

I only ever listen to three radio stations - Radio 2 (though my enthusiasm for that has been on the wane lately, especially in the mornings), Radio 3, and Radio 4. I gave up on Radio 1 long ago - the only two DJs worth listening to were Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe, and even then I never got to catch Jo's show (no radios in the office!).

I sympathise. I used to work around people who played that, or their personal music, all day. I haven't heard any of those stations in years, so I don't know who Lady Gaga is, for instance.

I have also been stuck in cars listening to Heart. Urgh... I completely agree. Everything is becoming centralised, homogenised and turned to pap.

I just listen to my own stuff on my ipod.

Used to listen to this station all day at the last place I worked. After a couple of days you could pretty much predict the order of the playlists, not just the content. Very, very annoying. Classic FM or Five Live for me now.
