As a member of the spiritual God-fearing asperger community, I would be in favor of a place for us to congregate. And I know you're out there.

If not one of them finds this post, please still respect that I have differing beliefs.
Thanks.

I would agree with You sometimes I wonder if We should have our own site or place too. Sometimes the debates can get a bit heated for sure in the end.

I miss the "Prayer 4 Wrong Planet" posts. Fionabon started it. She's left the website, maybe you can keep it going Reflection. It's on page 2.

I am a godless, amoral creature of depravity that cannot abide the touch of sunlight. But can i come to where you meet and wish you all well ^_^?

Reflection, welcome. :) Though many of the members here are either atheistic or agnostic, there are quite a few Christians out there. I'm glad that there are other aspie Christians out there and it makes me glad to know that I'm not alone.

As far as believer AS forums go, there is an Asperger Christian forum as part of the Delphi forums. I would like to see the development of an online Christian Aspie fellowship and ministry. There is a real need for Aspie believers to get together, to minister and be ministered to. I attend church and receive great teaching, but there are a lot of Aspie believers here are not comfortable in a church setting, and many Aspies have been hurt in church settings. An online Aspie fellowship could meet the needs of these people.

I think I'm your worst nightmare without meaning to.

I'm a nihilistic atheist, and I strongly disbelieve in God. I hate every concept of religion, and I'm sorry if you're offended by that.

I'm not trying to cause an arguement, I just want to say that if I'm ever acting like an as*hole in any other religious thread towards you, let me know. If anyone's personality could be improved--it's mine.

Blanford- I'm glad you're honest with both yourself and the rest of us. Everyone has the choice to believe whatever they want to believe and that's part of the beauty of life.

CRB- I'll have to check that site out. :)

It's great to hear you say this, and I completely and totally agree. I think this is what I'm getting at here.
I would like to really take this idea and materialize it if no one else has before. Anyway, I think something should be done as Asperger communities develop online.
I grew up in the church, even though it was always so painful to go and have to socialize excessively. I know that I'm not a wretched horrible sinner for not feeling comfortable in church now, but still know that I need to be with believers in some way, shape, or form. For me an online Christian Asperger's community website would be one answer, though I think it should also be supplemented by occasionally attending real-life church.
So, we'll see if this goes somewhere.

Thanks for your posts everyone!!

Yeah, a link would be great!

Welcome Reflection, I'm an Aspie Christian too! :) Sounds like a great idea, even if it's just a thread that we keep going. I sometimes feel like a bit of a minority when a lot of Aspies are logical thinkers and don't see any logic in religion!

As an Aspie Christian Psychology major professed-pessimist-closet-optimist, I might add that there CAN be a logic to religion, solely on its benefits psychologically: It has been tested and proven that religion, in the fact that it gives a sense of hope, does tend to beefit people psychologically. The big loophole here is if you have hope outisde of religion this may be just as good and I acknolegde that; I just thougth I'd share that if religion gives someone strength and doesn't hurt anyone, there's a logic to them recieving this benefit. ((Call it placebo religion if you want. If my headmeds are placebos, I hope to God, so to speak, I never find out.))

((I'm strong on the psychology, shaky on the religion so don't ask me to get into apologetics. That was just food for thought from a secular POV))

Serissa- that made sense to me. It seems like many people are religious either because it gives them hope (like you mentioned) or they want to belong to some sort of organization.

CRB- would you mind giving us the link to the forum you had in mind? I Google searched "delphi forums", but I couldn't find one with both AS and Christianity together...

Here is the link:

http://forums.delphiforums.com/aspautchrist/start

We need a few more people to sign up on this forum--for some reason, it has become rather dead. Please help liven it up and transform it into a real online ASD Christian fellowship.

Logic is the domain of philosophy and mathematics. Truth is the domain of science.

The domain of religion is *meaning*. Which you really don't find in either of the above.
