Yes.
Also at cafes and places like that. I always know its time to move on when they start commenting on me ordering the same thing.

Yes. It makes me feel weird when the people there say something like 'same again?'

Before moving about four years ago, I worked is a small town, with a couple of places nearby where I would order take-out to eat in a secluded place nearby. As I approached the door, we only needed to exchange nods to confirm "yes, I want the usual". See, autistic people can learn non-verbal communication!

I'm sure that I have ordered exactly the same items at least 100 times in succession at some of these places.

Once in a while, just for fun, I would ask for something slightly different - really freaked people out.

I always order the same. People laugh at me, but I always get what I expected, no surprises are what we all seek I think. I would be quite happy to have set foods every night, rotating through 7 dishes for the week. Just like 'Sheldon', Tuesday is Thai night!

When I order food from a restaurant, it is usually the dish I have enjoyed the most, made at that restaurant.

This describes me perfectly.

I particularly hate when restaurant staff begin to anticipate what I will order. I want them to go through the motions of asking me every time - even though my answers don't change. If I walk through the door & they already have my order ready, it messes with my sense of timing - like missing the bottom step on the stairs.

If someone ask for the same thing everytime, I will wait for them to tell me what they want. They may want something different once in a while. Most of the time I order the same thing. I am not too bothered with the staff asking if I want the usual, I will confirm :)
That just means, I don't have to explain what I want and have loads of confusion and that saves me time, which is good for me. I like saving time.
I just like to be able to order something knowing that I will like it and not unexpectedly hate it and feel crap about wasting money on something different

ALWAYS!! ! ALWAYS!! ! I can never venture out and try something new, because I fear that something will go wrong, or I'll be disappointed with my selection. Always have to play it safe.

Hah, yes. I have one or two dishes at any restaurant and I almost always pick one of those. It takes me forever to read through a menu I've never seen before for some reason.

I'd like to try new foods but I get almost a panic attack because I can't concentrate on reading the menu for other food options :\
