The priest talks forever and you have to wear a dress. Bring a book.

I sympathize. I made a deal, though. I would go, but I wouldn't have to stand in line for an hour, just 15 minutes, and then I could go sit by the table where the gifts were and either read or play with my Mindstorms. It wasn't so bad, actually. The hardest part was the two-hour long photo session with all the cousins...pure .

But August is a long ways away, so I would slowly start making plans and bringing them up and see how receptive your family is. Obviously they want you there, so there has to be some middle ground somewhere. Maybe see if your sister will let you do something different.

My neice had a High Mass Catholic wedding, I've been to alot of Catholic weddings, but this kind........oh my gosh, 2 hours......not my thing. My daughter is getting married in April, it will be a nice wedding that at the longest will 30 minutes. The guest book is very easy, you just stand there and the guest know what to do. If not just ask them to sign the guest book. You can do this for your sister, just remember you may end up getting married yourself one day, my sisters didn't cooperate much at my wedding, I would have liked to have had more pleasant memories of that day, please......just do this for her, it's just one day.

I'm never getting married though and if I did she wouldn't come, just like she probally won't be at our brothers wedding. he's gettting married on the 25th at his house maybe 8 people at the most and after the ceremony i get to take of and take his dog for as long of a walk as I want till it gets dark.
