Even though I am leftist, I have never believed that any political "revolution" could cure all problems in a country. Both left and right wing regimes have their problems, and it's no good if eithe rof these has semi-totalitarian power or is in power for too long.

Chavez is a thug and a parasite. He can only loot. He does not know how to build and create.

Comrads!

These are all compradors, bad class elements, recidivists, and agents of (please choose one: Columbia, the US, or the USA). Revolutionary justice is being served.

Wow, the name "Caracas" looks very similar to the word "carcass". Scary funny!

Say what you want about Chavez, at least he isn't shooting hundreds to death in the streets as happened under the old regime.

True. He just puts his political opponents in jail and throws away the key.

I am not sure if that was city or nationwide, but they have 26 million, and the half million in New Orleans kill 400 a year, the State adds another few hundred, which gives it the highest rate in the country.

With a fifth of the people we have a higher murder rate per person.

A closer view shows a few thousand thugs who are killing mostly each other, kind of a club, where one in five gets killed every year, which seems to be the member application process.

Venezuela is where you go if you would be killed for staying in Colombia.

They may move, but do not change their line of work.

Brazil had the same problem, then 5,000 people disappeared and the problem ended.

They are a very small group that has declared war on the populatiion, it is a war that can be won.

Venezuela's incarceration rate is a fraction of that in the United States. You don't see people get Life Without Possibility of Parole for lending out their car.

I suppose the Venezuelan government could claim that at least they're not doing as badly in fighting crime as the pro-American, conservative Calderón administration in Mexico - Ciudad Juárez, right across the US border, has a higher murder rate than Baghdad.
