i love tori amos. i think she's brilliant and i really enjoy her music. she is one of the few artists now-a-days that truly puts heart and soul into her work, in the studio or live. i mean, depending on whether or not you actually like her style, she is still a master bard. do you mean anything more specific though?

I first discovered Little Earthquakes on a shelf in the Program Director's office at a radio station where I worked. Since the station wasn't going to play it (Classic Rock Format), I took it home with a stack of other random promo junk and was thrilled and blown away, primarily by the resemblance to the work of Kate Bush whom I worshiped. She's grown away from that clone-like sound since and really developed her own voice.

Recently read her autobiography and she comes off a little spacey, but as someone prone to ramble on to others about special interests until they pass out from boredom, I won't judge. Quirkiness usually goes hand-in-hand with talent, and Tori clearly has an aesthetic genius and a true muse.

"Been raisin' up my hands, drive another nail in
Got enough guilt to start my own religion
"

Classic.

I find her kind of annoying for some reason, although some songs are really good.

I am a massive fan, at last count had about 36 of her CD's. Started out as an ear with feet from little earthquakes.

I also think she is a tad annoying sometimes.

I like it when she lets loose and gets crazy on the piano. I like her the most when she belts out the words. Great poetry...

Little Earthquakes is a great album and I saw her play live shortly after it was released and she was OK.
Have enjoyed some of her other stuff but Earthquakes by far her best work.
Don't think the second rate Kate Bush tag she is sometims labelled with is fair as she is clarly talented in her own right.

While I greatly admire her works I have a sheer distaste for her habitual misogyny

Wouldn't that be misandry, not misogyny?

Tori is one of those artists that I have seen live repeatedly, is a remarkable performer and composer, and am enough of a fan to have Y Kant Tori Read tracks as well.

I used to be a huge fan. I think I have maybe 15 or so of her CDs. I think her first album, "Little Earthquakes," was the best I've heard. I haven't really listened to her recent work, though I really like "Sleeps With Butterflies."

I think you would be surprised at the amount of people that know about YKTR. Some of my favorite music comes off that album even if Myra is dismissive of her early work, eg Cool on your island, Fire on the side and the Etienne trilogy. My favorite album though is More Pink - the B sides. Last time she came down here for a concert she played a lot of her early tracks. It was fantastic.

cheapest and easiest way is as a torrent file, there are knockoff copies floating around on fleabay. A genuine copy will be big bucks.
