Hated:

The designated 'popular'/talkative kids, who always think that they were cooler than everyone else.

The fact that throughout the year everyone thinks only losers study and take school work seriously. Until final exams come, and everyone compares marks, hoping they did the best.

My Black and White school uniform blazer. It was murder wearing it during the summer.

Those jocks who excelled in sports, and thought they were best thing since sliced bread.

Teachers. The ones who always picked on quiet kids.

The way teachers try to fill you with fright about detention. They make it seem as if you're going to be an inmate of Guantanemo Bay, for a few hours after school, and all you do is pick up litter from the fields.

School Photo Day. (most hated)

Having to wake up early on a Saturday morning in winter, to get dressed in school uniform and to go watch the first 15 Rugby team catch another hiding.

Liked:

I liked history class. I could take a nap during it, and still get an 'A' grade.

The camaraderie which came from playing sport.

The friends I made.

Hated: junior high. All of it. Every single thing. Every activity. Every class. Every day. Hated.

Loved: high school. My HS was cool. (Except gym class where we were all ushered into playing either football or basketball. I'm terrible at either.)

I always felt the teachers, most of them, thought I was trying to get out the easy way because I couldn't do the work the way they wanted me too. They didn't, and were not willing to understand the problem at hand.

some of the kids made fun of me
The influence some of the people had on me

things I liked were some of the teachers. Some of them were very philosophical and actually interesting when they taught. I learned some insightful wisdom other than things I won't need to remember taught in school. I also had a kick ass comedian as a teacher who taught classes for kids who had learning conditions. His class was always the best.

Being around making a few true friends had taught me things socially that I may have not learned yet if it was not for school and the friends that came with it. It gave me confidence.

Kind of a hit and miss: Many of the friends I had, which I no longer have, I feel somewhat thankful to have had the experience to get to know them, it sort of familiarized me with many different personalities and socializing, but of those people I am no longer friends with them.

I think this thread has the potential to be an offshoot of;

You might be an Aspie!

But here goes;

Disliked (varying degrees)

Being so obviously different but not understanding how
Carpentry, metalwork and art (I couldnt see the point)
Lunchtimes
Team sports
Some/many of the teachers
Being very skinny

Liked

Running
Text books (anything rather than having to take in information through listening)
The end of the school day
Exam time
Exam results
I was generally top of the class (as well as being 'different' :!: )
De Moivre's theorum
Maths and science, in that order
Graduating
Private study (at my own pace and using my own learning style)
Selling homework answers to my antagonists
Giving the answers to my antagonists when they got tired of paying (which was perversely even more enjoyable than selling the answers) 8)
Transitioning from skinny to athletic before graduating High School
Contract bridge

Running was my best friend at school and began a fitness regimen that has continued for over 30 years and has served me well.

I chose never to represent my school in running, despite being a good runner. Even the individual events seemed too much like 'team sports'

I ran during my lunch breaks (as my lunchtime social calendar was limited) and at home.
