I always played on my swing when I was a child and I loved every minute of it.

Elementary School teachers banned me from the swingset in an effort to get me to socialize and participate with the rest of the class. Didn't work - I started climbing into a tree to hide until recess was over.

I can't count the number of rocking chairs I've literally worn out over the years. More than a half-dozen rocker/recliners that I'm sure of and at least one Bentwood.

Just replaced a used-up rocker/recliner a few days ago as a matter of fact, and noted that the tag on the new one said "Extra reinforced springs for longer durability". They'd better be - in the words of Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy):

" I'm A Rocker! (I'm a Roller, too, Bay-bee)"...

I'd love to have a rocking chair or swing, or a garden swing (those with the sun-shades) but they're outrageously expensive around here...

Isn't it much nicer to rock when you're sitting in a rocking chair?

LOL Willard, I think I'll take you as my role model and stop feeling guilty of wanting to own a rocking chair...

I have a rocking chair, but I had to take it out of my bedroom to make room for another bookcase.

I don't actually own one, but I use FIL's big rocking lazy boy chair.

I will immediately buy a rocking/gliding chair when we move out. :D

We had an old rocking chair when I was a kid but it broke. I've never had a swing, but it would've been great! I wouldn't want the garden swing variety with sun roof, though, since they're not very speedy! A regular swing can take whatever speed you feel like at the moment...

Lol, speaking of swings, I remember in junior high, when M, S and I had gone home from school together. We were outside S's block and since we still had things to talk about, we all sat down on the swing set and we had as much fun as if we'd been 10 years younger. Hey, we were only 15

The place that I rent comes with a wooden porch swing. When It's nice out, I like to sit there and listen to my wind chimes.

Yes, we have a platform swing in our living room, and a porch swing. I mostly just use the porch swing. My younger son also has one in the backyard like the one pictured in Followthereaper90's post. We have a wooden rocking chair, but it's not very comfy, so it's seldom used.

mostly this type of stuff is used to help with sensory problems which is another reason why they are not in every store :P
