Nice story too. I remember learning stuff like that as a cub and boy scout myself in the 1980s but unfortunately never got to use it.

That boy is a real hero. People like him are the examples that we need to show to the general community.

And he's from my home town of Houston.

Do you think he has aspergers?

I thought Autism was more impaired.

I guess it's high functioning.....but then it doesn't matter. He's just a human being and labeling is silly.

hey i just saw that on cnn less than a minute ago. Good to see autistic people being praised on the tv and saving lives.

Watching him was just like watching my son. The word choices, the body language, what he was saying. You could have put him in my son's body and I would have never known the difference.

I think this is such a wonderful story, especially since he feels like a hero after being left out and picked on. I'm very happy for him AND for his teacher.

I hope with more awareness these kinds of stories come out more. The public needs to see this side of autism as much as possible.
