Why do they want in the bathroom so much? Is there something in there that draws them there?

Not really...just some clothes...

It might be the fact that it is a room they don't have regular access to because the door stays shut and it doesn't have an open ceiling like the rest of my living area...

They only show interest when I go in there...

They're probably curious as to why you appear to be hiding from them. I can't say for sure. Cats have done this to me before.

Sometimes I will leave the door propped open so that they can explore...Then, they are no longer interested...Other times I will walk in on one or more hanging out in there, and they will startle and scatter...I accidentally locked Entropy in the bathroom with the light out for half an hour...when I came back, she acted like she wanted back in as soon as I let her out..because I was going in there...

I also wonder why my cats spend hours staring at the door to the water heater...

Enty always acts like she wants to climb into the fridge every time I open the door..

My Dad's cat has a fascination with the AC, she'll climb up to it and sometimes get on top of it and peer into the air blowing out of it. I'm guessing it's the same for cats with boilers. It's a sound coming out from behind something, I'd be interested if I didn't know better. The same cat will sometimes climb into the oven(?!), which makes sense when you think of it as being a dark hole in the wall.

I had a cat who was facinated by the toilet flushing. Everytime I would flush it, she would rush in and take a look.

My cats did that before, too.
I guess cats are really curious about everything.
Maybe that's why people say, "Curiosity kills the cat".

Ya, the cats i've had have always been curious like that. They want to get into rooms they are not allowed or outside. But the second they do, they get super cautious and the slightest noise will startle them and they run off back to familiar ground.

A door, as someone (Ogden Nash, I think) once said, is the thing a cat is always on the wrong side of. They're curious and personable. They investigate sounds or movements, smells, even warm or cool air, to see where it's coming from. I kind of like being followed by cats, and watching them discover their world.

This is probably the reason. My dog is the same with the toilet in my house; my family refers to it as "The Forbidden Room Of Mystery" because of her curiosity about it.

Turn the faucet on to a thin stream, turn the lights off, leave the door open and leave and you will have your answer.

Yea, cats are very interesting. My cat is really weird though.. he barks and acts like a dog and follows me everywhere around the house.

Enty follows me around the house...she's an overgrown kitten, and she also likes to dry nurse on my clothes...She will get this really mushy needy lovesick look on her face...like the kitten from the Warner Bro's cartoon...and then she will come snuggle in my lap and suck on my shirt...She also gives "kisses"

My cat do that because she dont like to have a door locked and that make her extra interested when the door is locked when someone is in there....
