She really is. There are a few humans who I'm close to, but none who I could accurately call a "best friend" - in part because they don't consider me to be their best friend. But there is no question that I am Miso's favorite person. I would definitely like to have a human best friend, but I haven't had one since high school.

Does anyone else have a non-human best friend? Is it because you don't need a human best friend, or you just haven't been able to find one?

My Harbor Seal is also my best friend. His tooting noise is cuter than a meow or bark.

My dog is my best friend, but she can be naughty sometimes and make me angry. I have a cat, Mr Ari who I'm always on good terms with. He actually does answer me when I talk. If only I could understand him. Both keep me warm on a cold night.

I don't know what a best human friend is. I don't hang around with anyone enough to call them a best friend. I do open up to people and share my problems. There's one that doesn't shy away when I mention AS, but he is a long distance friend.

You have a seal as a companion? Do you have any photos? I've never known anyone with a seal companion before.

I have a few cats, and they love me very much and I love them very much. I have one human friend but he lives over 1500 miles away. My cats are my best friends.

One of them follows me around from room-to-room and sits with me on my desk and then lays on my pillow next to me every night. If I get up to go into another room she will usually follow me and talk to me. She is my very best friend. In fact she just said something to me as I was typing this.

I understand a lot of what they say.

My dog, Piper, is my best friend. My cat can be kinda aloof.. (Well duh, she's a cat.) I think Cara (the cat) prefers guys. We had this roommate for awhile, and he was totally the cat's b****. It was really funny, the cat totally took advantage of this guy, she would get him to feed her too much at the wrong times and stuff, he could never say no to her. Of course, she's a very cocky cat.. her big sister is a pit bull. :-)

I haven't seen my human best friend in awhile. Her cell doesn't get texts anymore and I'm kinda afraid to find out whats going on.. But the important thing about a best friend is that you know them and who they are, and your friendship doesn't change even when you do or your situation does. Friends should be consistent, so you can get annoyed with each other or whatever, but it doesn't change anything. Lol, well, I'm her best friend besides her cat. :-P I'm surer that she's on the spectrum than I am that I'm on it. Alicia can best be described to someone who has seen her around but doesn't know her as "The girl weird girl who stares a lot and is obsessed with cats." But, um, we both suck at talking on the phone.

Before my husband, my cat was my best friend. Now he's my second best friend. I do better with animals in general, I relate better.

When I was younger my cat, Shadow, was definitely my best friend. I had a very close bond with him. He was sick for a long time and died a few years ago. The cats I have now, I love them of course, but they're more like "typical cats" and are much more aloof and independent than Shadow was. That's the hard thing about being so close to a cat; their life spans are so much shorter than ours.

My oldest cat has been my very best friend for 6 years, ever since her sister died. We realised that we needed each other then and we've stuck together ever since. Before that she was my brother's cat and I loved her of course but I tended more towards her sister who was my cat. Now, I also have two more cats and the boy is definitely another best friend for me. His favourite place to sleep is wherever I'm sitting/sleeping and he follows me around the house. The girl cat has taken 5 years to warm up to my family and has finally come out of the basement and chosen me as her person. She's always in my room now and I'm loving finally getting to know her after years of her being so shy.

From when I was born to age 8 we had another cat as well and I have myself and family on video talking about how he was my best friend, which makes me happy but also sad because I don't remember him very well anymore. :(

I could go on and on about my cats but I'll stop there because I've written too much already.

I have good human friends, but am very close with my animals. I have two cats who love me, and I love them dearly. I also volunteer at an animal shelter, and the animals there are a delight.

It's like they are made just for that, just for you.

We have a very special relationship. She was a stray I took in - she decided she was going to live with me and wouldn't take no for an answer. She sleeps with me every night and follows me wherever I go. We understand each other so perfectly, I don't think there's any human who I communicate with as well.

Sati, you also took on a stray cat? My cat was wild when I took her on. I wasnt able to touch her for two years. But I was very determined to work with her so she could feel relaxed and confident with us. She is me and my husbands best friend :) we have no other relationship with others actually except our families but we love our cat very much.
Now she lie her on her computerblanket and roll around. Cats makes me calm in my heart

I got my first cat when I was six years old. She was my best and only true friend during my childhood. That cat was my lifeline when I was growing up

All three of my kitty companions were strays :) Marny was also wildish when I brought her in - she would let me pet her occasionally, but for a year she'd spend most of her time hiding. Now she follows me around with Miso and comes on the bed every morning when I wake up to be petted :D

^ isnt that amazing? That makes our cats extra special. Because we got them close to us the hard way. Every single little attempt she do to get near us appears as a big deal to us. Because its nothing we can take for granted as other catowners can who got fully tame cats. I would love to kiss my cat and I would love to hug her but I cant. But I love her to eternity anyway. The feeling that you have given her a good life filled with love makes all years struggling with her worth every minute of it!
