Hi all, as i'm sure everyone is aware, an Autism bill has been pushing its way through parliament, well i've just read here http://www.autism.org.uk/nas/jsp/polopo ... 34&a=20803 that it has been made an Autism Act in England though it also states both Wales and Ireland have their parliaments debating it too.
Its my understanding from reading the PDF and all the other info that local authorities will have to provide services if they don't already but it mainly it will outline locally what is expected of local authorities and workplaces.
This is really just a brief note, either follow the link to the NAS website or visit the homepage if like me you're usually skeptical of forum links for a fuller explanation.

I've been following this for months and been dealing with these systems even longer. The guidelines for local authorities are already in existence and have been for years. Therefore, I suspect the only difference now is that it will become easier to take legal action when the local authorities continue failing to implement them.

When I saw the header on this thread, I actually thought for a moment someone was coming out with a mascot character for Autism Awareness or something. :P
