Hi,this relates to smell sensitivity.Does anyone else have real problems with all the perfumes and deodorants and body sprays that most people wear these days? I am always feeling like a blow fly that has just flown into a stream of fly spray;they make me nauseous, mind goes to jelly and lots of headaches. Now I know if someone doesn't shower enough it can get pretty unpleasant as well, but I think these days the amount of horrible chemical smells people wear is MUCH more repellent than just that normal "end of the day" smell.Any one agree?
Yeah, I'm really sensitive to all that fake chemically smell stuff. Our neighbor, with whom we share a wall, uses scented laundry products, and the smell comes right into our house unless I close the window.
It's not so much the smell of all that stuff which is objectionable to me as the chemical, toxic nature of it. I get headaches when bombarded by Calvin Klein Obsession, because it's made out of toxic chemicals.
And no matter how nicely and sweetly you say, "I'm so sorry, but, even though your perfume smells lovely, there is some ingredient in it which I have a reaction to, and I get bad headaches if I'm exposed to it, so could you please not come too close while your wearing it. So sorry," they get offended and hurt. "What? You don't like the smell of my Yves de la Buffoon
Perseveracion de Nuit? But it smells so good! Here, let me spray some on you so you can smell it better. And while I'm at it, let me play some of my music for you, since if you are complaining about the fact that you could hear it, then obviously you weren't hearing it thoroughly enough to fully appreciate it."
Ugh!!
