I know many famous people are believed to be, but have any come out and openly said they were?

Daryl Hannah and Dan Ackroyd are two that spring to mind.

Then I did a quick search and found this:

I don't like this page simply because many people there are suspected to be autistic, and not actually diagnosed. For example, it says that Rosalind Franklin was autistic. I highly doubt it... she's just a very hardworking individual. I know a person who is like that, too, and she's not autistic in the least.

Some of our greatest scientists are (or were) Aspies. For example Paul Dirac who invented quantum field theory which is the basis of the Standard Model for Particles and Fields. Isaac Newton was probably an Aspie. He was a strange duck in any case. Einstein probably was not. He was a very sociable fellow.

I have long thought Morrissey is, and quite a few people seem to have concluded the same, from when I searched on it a time ago.
If you look at interviews on youtube, you might see what I mean.

I always kind of thought Morrissey was too.

They need to add R. Crumb.

In fact, I think I'll leave them a comment.

I'm not sure if it matters significantly. I seem to be a lot more sociable than most members here myself.

I'm currently suspecting Richard Feynman.

Agreed. I think Einstein was, though we can't know. However, I have AS and I'm pretty sociable. My friendships happen to be with very outgoing, extroverted people, so to hang out with them, I've learned to enjoy getting out and being social. Perhaps Einstein realized that people are nicer if you're social and so taught himself to be that way? I wonder if people at the high-functioning end of AS have an easier time with that...just a speculation and if I offended anyone with that, I apologize.

I also supect Richard Feynman had AS. And he was one funny guy. Ever read his autobiography? (It's called, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman in reference to a somewhat aspie-like moment. Great read.)
